Emulation Painting: Painting 1 Students As an artist you are influenced or even moved by the artwork of other artists. When we study these works and are influenced by them, we unintentionally pattern them into our painting. Your task is to find artists who you admire and would like to learn from. Instructions: Choose an artist that you admire then select a specific painting that you are attracted to. Your task is to copy this painting as precisely as you are able. Pay very close attention to matching colors, brush strokes, value changes and proportion. Suggested Artists: You are NOT limited to these! When searching online search ‘artist __________(artist name)’ Find their website first, then do any images searching.

Take notes of things like color scheme, brush strokes and textures, subject matter, composition etc. Try and create a painting in the style of this artist that is also uniquely your own.
