Gray Line Airport Express Shuttle Information

2012-13 Med-Peds Recruitment Season

Vanderbilt University

Nashville, TN

Every year, for several years, many of our applicants have hopped aboard the Gray Line Airport Express shuttle to get from Nashville International Airport to their hotel, and back again.

For the 2012-13 recruitment season, the round-trip cost FOR VANDERBILT MEDICAL CENTER APPLICANTS (that’s you!) is $ 20. The one-way cost is $ 14.
Either way, that's much cheaper than taking a cab from the airport to your hotel which would cost about $ 25-30 one way.) If you need the Gray Line Airport Express for one way, it's a $ 14 charge; no applicant discount. At Nashville International Airport, the Gray Line counter is on the first floor, below baggage claim. You don’t need to make reservations going TO your hotel. Just head to the Gray Line kiosk at the airport—after you get off the plane and get your luggage—and the Gray Line people will help you.
The Grayline Airport Shuttle has service to many campus area hotels. Check the website to make sure your hotel is listed, but the hotels near Vanderbilt (included in my “hotel email”) are on the list.
If you’ll need the Grayline Airport Shuttle for a ride back to the airport on Thursday, you’ll need to call (615) 275-1180 (24 hours in advance) and tell them you need to schedule a pick-up from Vanderbilt’s Medical Center North location at ______ (time) / (date). Some applicants will take the Gray Line shuttle back to the airport from their hotel late Thursday afternoon/evening. It’s up to you—whether you want to leave from Vanderbilt OR from your hotel—just depends on how soon you need to fly out.
Here’s the website for all the info:

A final important point about the Gray Line shuttle: Their vans come to Vanderbilt Medical Center (the “Medical Center North” pick-up spot) at :20 and :50 past each hour. I’ll walk you to that pick-up spot as it’s very close to Medical Center East where you’ll spend all of your Thursday afternoon—up until 5:00 p.m. when the interview day is over.
If you want me to store your luggage for you on Thursdays, let me know. I don’t have tons of space at my cubicle, but I can definitely keep luggage at my desk if you must leave from Vanderbilt to catch your flight.
