Meeting called to order at noon
Treasurer
Robert’s rules explained. These rules insure that no one speaks out of turn during a meeting
Votes do not need to be counted up if a majority is readily apparent
Checks are now available for clubs that have had their funding request approved
BOT Rep
The suggestion to have no classes on the day of the expo is currently on the U.Maine President’s desk, if approved it will then go to the board of trustees
NSF grants workshop is Oct 13th at Cross insurance center in Bangor
Grants
Association of computer machinery women asked for GSG recognition
VOTE: passed, majority apparent
SPIRE (interdisciplinary online journal for UMaine) asked for GSG recognition
VOTE: passed, majority apparent
Earth and Climate Sciences Club, asked for GSG recognition
VOTE: passed, majority apparent
A reminder that clubs cannot pick up their checks a semester ahead of time

Poster board rental, this year’s budget, and meeting minutes are all now available on home page of GSG website
Outreach and Professional Development Officer Election
Candidates were Elisabeth Kilroy and Delaina Toothman
VOTE: Delaina Toothman elected, majority apparent
Misc
Approval of minutes from 9/7/16, passed, majority apparent
Further discussion on the additional grant requirements have been tabled about a month down the line when it will likely be known whether there will be classes on the day of the expo.
