HC STANDARD APPLICATION INFORMATION
WHAT IS IT?
NDDoH Emergency Preparedness & Response Section has at least one free HC Standard application license for every facility. The purpose of the app is to assist with resident evacuation during an emergency. The application needs to be installed onto a smartphone, tablet or other mobile device prior to the emergency. Then at the time of the event or emergency, evacuation tags can be quickly and easily scanned to track residents who are being relocated. Resident information can also be prepopulated in advance with as much or as little information as desired. When a resident is then relocated in an actual event, the information within the application follows the resident and can be accessed by the facility receiving the resident.
WHAT TYPE OF DEVICE WILL WORK?
For the free HC Standard app, the NDDoH Emergency Preparedness & Response Section is recommending a tablet or smartphone that stays at the facility (so always available in the event of an evacuation) but the app can also be installed on a personal smartphone (such as the administrator’s or DON’s).
It is acceptable to install the app on a shared device in the facility, for instance on a tablet used in the Activity Department (as long as the tablet is regularly charged and its location is known at all times).
WHAT OPERATING SYSTEM WILL WORK?
Any smartphone with Apple (iPhone) or Android (Samsung, Nexus, etc.) operating system will work.
Any tablet with Apple (iPad), Android (Samsung, Nexus, Amazon Fire, etc.) or Windows 8 (Microsoft Surface, Dell Venue, etc.) operating system will work.
HOW IS IT INSTALLED?
Please look up your device information using the following steps (should take about 5 minutes). Send the information to Marie Ricketts at mricketts@nd.gov. You will then be contacted to schedule a time for installing the app (installation takes 5 minutes).
