Today, Jim Carrey has an extremely successful stand-up comedy and film career, but he didn’t have an easy time making his way to the top.
In his early years at school, Carrey was very quiet and didn’t have many friends. He was an undiagnosed dyslexic, and often struggled in school.
He began compensating with humor, causing many teachers to label him as disruptive, but also causing him to realize that he could connect with people by making them laugh. This spurred his creativity and humorous side, which has propelled his acting career. His other main tactic was to develop a phenomenal memory in order to overcome his reading hurdles.
Distraught and Angry as a Toronto-area teenager in the 1970’s ,Jim Carrey once lived in a van, after his musician father lost his day job and Family was left for destitute for few months then carrey worked as a janitor to support his family. soon Carrey learned he had no Appetite for poverty.
After months of struggling Carrey made his debut at Comedy yuk’ yuk as a stand up comedian, soon he decided to move to Hollywood where he appeared on the televised stand, up comedy show An Evening in the Improv.
On the set of his first lead role on the NBC series ,the Duck Factory back in 1983.
"I had no idea really what I was doing until maybe about a year ago, when people started telling me [that what was special about me is that] my face is… real weird," Carrey said.
Then he first gain Recongination in 1990 after landing the recurring role in the skitch Comedy in living color.
Carrey did not experience the true stardom until he was cast in lead role of the slapstick comedy Ace Ventura; Pet Detective(1994) which earned more than 100 million $ worldwide. that same year he landed lead roles in The Mask and Dumb and Dumber. The garnered him his first golden globe award nomination for best actor. Both movies were huge box office success.
In 1996 Carrey earned more than 20 million$ for his film the cable guy, which did not done well in box office. but soon he bounced back with the Critically acclaimed liar liar earning a second golden globe award nomination for best actor.
The following year he decided to take a pay cut to play a serious role of Truman Burbank in comedy drama film the Truman show. eventually he did pick up his first golden globe for best actor in a motion picture drama. In 1999 ,Carrey had the lead role in the Man on the Moon for which he received his second golden globe award consecutive year.
In his next feature film, Carrey starred opposite Jennifer Aniston And Morgan freeman in International blockbuster Bruce almighty Which earned almost 500 million $ in boxoffice. In 2004 he starred in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. which considered his best performance ever. IN 2007 Carrey returned to live action comedy in Yes Man, The film had decent performance at the box office, earning $225 million worldwide.
Now in 2014, Jim Carrey backs on top and prove himself as a box office king with the success of dumb and dumber to.
