4 UNITED PLAYERS SELECTED TO SUPPORTERS’ XI
Four Lansing United players were selected to the National Premiere Soccer League’s Supporters’ XI today – the most of any team in the league.
Goalkeeper Zach Bennett, defender Austin Dunn, midfielder Tyler Pasher and forward Matt Brown were among those selected online by fans throughout the country.
Brown led United in points (23) and goals (11) during the regular season, while Pasher contributed three goals and six assists in 10 matches. Bennett made 38 saves and posted a 8-4-2 (W-D-L) record in goal this season, and Dunn played every minute of every game this season for Lansing and was the only United player to start all 16 regular season matches.
Other selections include Detroit City FC’s Josh Rodgers, Tyler Arnone and Zach Meyers, Chattanooga FC’s Chris Lavie, Thibault Charmey and Luis Trude, and AFC Cleveland’s Dan O’Callaghan.
The NPSL is a national league that operates in the 4th Division of the U.S. Soccer pyramid. NPSL teams are eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA). The NPSL is the fastest-growing national soccer league in North America, operating in 80+ markets across the country. Two Major League Soccer (MLS) clubs (D.C. United and the New York Red Bulls) and four North American Soccer League (NASL) clubs (Minnesota United, Carolina Railhawks, Atlanta Silverbacks, Oklahoma City FC) operate teams in the NPSL.
