GATHERING AROUND THE WORD

*Call to Worship

Leader: O Lord, our Lord, how exalted is your name in all the world!

People: Out of the mouths of infants and children your majesty is praised above the heavens.

Leader: When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars you have set in their courses…

People: …what are we human beings that you should be mindful of us – mere mortals that You should seek us out?

Leader: Yet, you have made us but a little lower than the angels; you adorn us with glory and honor.

People: O Lord, our Lord, how exalted in your name in all the world!
*Hymn Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise #263

Invocation
The Lord’s Prayer Unison

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

CONFESSION OF SIN & ASSURANCE OF PARDON

Call to Confession

Confession Unison

Blessed God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Our Creator, our Redeemer, and our Sustainer, Yours is a perfect relationship; one God in three persons, mutual and whole. We confess that our relationships are not that way. We have been too selfish. Or we have given too much. Or we have accepted too little. We have failed to love after the manner of Jesus. We have let sin drive us away from one another and from you. We long for wholeness and peace and a sense of well-being, but our sin takes us in other directions. Forgive us and restore us. Pull us to you. With mercy and grace, pull us to you.
(A time of Silent Prayer)
Amen and Assurance of Pardon
*Gloria Patri Greatorex

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.

As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be World without end, Amen, Amen.
*Affirmation of Faith Apostles' Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen.
Presentation of Tithes and Offerings

Offertory Anthem “Baptism” Nathaniel Dett
Doxology

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him all creatures here below;

Praise Him above ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.
Prayer of Dedication

God, You work in us and in the world as creator, Savior and sustainer. We are called to be co-creators with You in Your mission. We make this offering of sacrificial love for those in need. May Your word of life be heard, and Your nearness and caring experienced through Your Holy Spirit and through our transformation. Amen.
