The following Starbucks Via Instant Coffee varieties are kosher for Pesach with only the OU on the label and does not require specific Pesach certification: Veranda Blend Blonde Roast, Pike Place Roast Medium Roast Coffee, House Blend Medium Roast Coffee, Dark Roast Coffee - Italian Roast, Dark Roast Coffee - French Roast and Medium Roast Coffee – Colombia


Hashahar Ha’ole Special Cocoa Spread, product of Israel, is available in pareve and dairy versions. The pareve type, which states Pareve and bears OU-P, is OU certified for Pesach and does not contain kitniyos. The dairy type, which states Dairy and contains kitniyos, bears OU-D and states that the OU supervision is for year round and not for Pesach, and is not Cholov Yisroel. Check each label carefully.
Lieber’s Whole Purple Plums in heavy syrup, in 30 oz. cans, is not Kosher for Pesach. The Pesach marking on the label is incorrect and is crossed out, though on some labels the Pesach wording is still legible.
Fresh Direct freshly ground smooth peanut butter and freshly ground smooth almond butter mistakenly bears the OK-P kosher symbol. The Fresh Direct website correctly lists these products as OK pareve certified for year round use. This product is kosher pareve, but is not kosher for Pesach.
The following Ancient Harvest Quinoa products are usable for Pesach without Pesach certification on the package: Inca Red Grains Quinoa, Tricolor Grains Harmony blend Quinoa, White Grains Traditional Quinoa
The Star-K certifies many appliances that are designed and manufactured with a “Sabbath Mode” which are meant to avoid issues involving a) auto shutoff which shuts off the oven after 12 or 24 hours to conserve energy and/or prevent fires b) lights and signals that go on or off when one opens and closes the door. In recent weeks the Star-K has issued alerts on several brands that utilize this feature that includes Bosch, LG and Samsung. Please see http://www.star-k.org/ for exact model numbers which are affected by this alert.
There is Sprite soda being sold at select Jewel stores and perhaps at other locations and perhaps at other locations that clearly state it is only kosher under Rabbi Landau for year round but the Rabbanut of Tel Aviv states that it is acceptable for Pesach. The cRc is happy to report that the soda meets the cRc standards and may be used for Pesach.
The following brands of parchment paper only require the Star K certification. The "P" Pesach certification is not needed on the label: 365 Everyday Value, Artbake, Beyond Gourmet, Brown Paper Goods, Chef LeBon, Companions, D&W Finepack, Economic Choice, First Mark, First Value, Handy Wacks, If You Care, Master Baker, McNairn, Norpak, Palisades Packaging, Papercon, Paperchef, and The Pampered Chef
The following brands of parchment paper only require the OU certification. The "P" Pesach certification is not needed on the label: Essential Everyday, Everyday Chef, Great Value, Meijers, Reynold's and Roundy's

Kashrut.com is reporting the following information from the OU on what ground meats may be used for Pesach: Meal Mart ground beef should not be used on Pesach unless it bears an OU-P, Solomon Ground Beef (and Solomon Brisket) can be used for Pesach with just an OU and without a Pesach symbol.

  1. Real Lemon lemon juice and Real Lime lime juice are recommended for Pesach even without special Pesach certification.

  2. Raisins need Pesach certification. The following are acceptable with just an OU without a P: CVS Gold Emblem, Dole, Essential Everyday, Gefen, Glicks, Great Value, Kroger, Market Basket, Market Pantry, Nice!, P$$T and Trader Joe’s.

  3. All soaps and body washes are acceptable for Pesach. Any hand sanitizer may be used on Pesach.

  4. Nori requires Pesach certification.

  5. Coffee grinders that were used for flavored coffee or washed with chametz should not be used for Pesach. Coffee makers cannot be kashered for Pesach (including Keurig machines).

  6. Canned items require Pesach certification. All Pillar Rock Salmon in cans (with only salt and water added) are acceptable for Pesach with only the OU on the label. The "P" is not required.

  7. Fresh Salmon is acceptable without Pesach certification but must be rinsed prior to use.

  8. Mirilax powder may be used on Pesach.

  9. Benefiber is chametz and may not be used on Pesach.

  10. The cRc only recommends toothpaste and mouthwash with a hechsher for Pesach. Toms of Maine Wholecare Spearmint and Peppermint toothpastes are recommended for Pesach when bearing a plain OU.

  11. Lactaid milk is acceptable for Pesach if purchased before Pesach.

  12. All lip balms are acceptable for Pesach. It is preferable to use unflavored varieties.

  13. Paper towels may be used with hot food on Pesach. They do not need Pesach certification.

  14. Whole, slivered or chopped nuts are acceptable without Pesach certification whether in or out of a shell, except if they are 1) blanched or roasted (all varieties), 2) finely ground into a powder, such as almond flour, 3) contain BHT or BHA, 4) shelled pecans (all varieties), or 5) peanuts (which are kitniyos).

  15. The following items are considered kitniyos: alfalfa, anise, bean sprouts, beans, buckwheat, canola oil, caraway, chickpeas, coriander, corn starch, cumin, dill seeds, fennel seeds, green beans, hemp seeds, kasha, kimmel, millet, mustard, peanuts, peas, popcorn, poppy seeds, rice including wild rice, sesame seeds, snow peas, sorghum, soy, string beans, sunflower seeds, tofu and tums and are not acceptable for Pesach.

  16. Right Guard Sport and 3D Odor Defense (all Varieties) are recommended for Pesach use.

  17. Frozen Fruit is acceptable for Pesach if it is not cooked, not sweetened (except with plain sugar), and does not contain sensitive additives.

  18. Nescafe Taster's Choice (regular only) does not need Pesach certification. Folgers both regular and decaffeinated do not need Pesach certification.

  19. Quinoa needs Pesach certification to ensure no other grains are mixed in.

  20. A blech may not be kashered for Pesach.

  21. Pure orange juice frozen concentrate does not need a hechsher for Pesach.

  22. All pill medications meant to be swallowed are acceptable for Pesach regardless of their ingredients. In general, vitamins and supplements require Pesach certification. Antacids need Pesach certification.

  23. Both brown sugar and confectioner’s sugar require Pesach certification.

  24. Coconut Oil, Stevia, Honey, and Maple syrup require Pesach certification.

  25. Nail polish and Vaseline do not need Pesach certification.

  26. Both flavored and unflavored seltzer needs a hechsher for Pesach

  27. 100% Pure unflavored extra virgin olive oil does not need a hechsher for Pesach. All other oils require recommended kosher for Pesach supervision.

  28. Granite can be kashered for Pesach. Granite counters are kashered with irui kli rishon-pouring boiling water over the entire surface of the counter.

  29. Quartz Resin countertops may be Kashered for Pesach.

  30. Kamado grills cannot be kashered for Pesach (or year round).

The cRc is collecting information about kosher food served on airlines so we can share their reliability with others before they travel. How you can help? Dasani Sparkling Beverages are OU certified. The OU symbol does not appear on some cans. Dasani has the OU symbol next to the date stamp on the inkjet until new cans with the OU symbol can be produced.
Conagra Foods, Inc. has decided to change the status of PAM Butter Flavor No-Stick Cooking Spray (Code: B1-68) from OK Pareve to OK Dairy due to the addition of a dairy butter flavor. All other Pam products are Pareve.

A non-certified product appears in some boxes of Philly Swirl Cups. The candy coated spoons are not certified by the Orthodox Union, yet, the box bears an OU symbol. Notices were placed inside each box to notify consumers that only the ices are certified kosher, and not the spoons.


Many Snapple products are certified kosher by the OK , not all are kosher: Fruit Punch – NOT KOSHER, Snapple Cranberry Raspberry Juice Drink –NOT KOSHER. When buying the variety pack that includes these non-Kosher items, it is advisable to remove them immediately and dispose of them.
Western Family brand products bean an unauthorized BCK logo and are not certified kosher by the BCK Orthodox Rabbinical Council of BC: Frozen Chopped Spinach, Frozen Berry Blend, Frozen Dark Fruit Blend, Frozen Bite Sized Blend, Frozen Blackberries.
Sprecher's Sodas has an unauthorized Wisconsin K symbol on the outside of the boxes. Product has been seen at Sam's Club and possibly other places.
Imperial Garden Organic Brown Rice, Edamame and Kale is being sold in a display box that has an unauthorized OU symbol. The individual bags do not have an OU on them. This product is sold in some Costco stores (and possibly elsewhere).
Your Fresh Market Herb Vinaigrette and Raspberry Vinaigrette: These two products are not kosher, even when bearing a COR symbol.
Nature’s Garden Kid’s Rainbow Trail Mix, Cibo Vita, Inc. was mistakenly labeled as OK Kosher. It is not kosher.
Cibo Vita Protein Fusion Mix, Inc Fair Lawn, NJ is mistakenly bears the OK kosher symbol on the packaging.
Mother’s Maid Grape Juice has some labels printed with an unauthorized OU symbol.
Sabra Dipping Company is marketing Party Platter Selects, available exclusively in Wal-Mart. The Party Platters include Sabra® Classic Hummus, Breadsticks, Salami and Cheeses. Please be advised that although the hummus is kosher certified, the Platters are not kosher, and do not bear the ok kosher symbol on the label.
Family Size Ritz Crackers is an OU-D product. Some of the packaging for the 12-pack Family Size Ritz Original Crackers with the UPC Code 4400004575 was printed without the OU D symbol. This product is kosher and dairy.
Jack’s Snacks Vegan Nutty Energy Bar mistakenly bears the OK kosher symbol instead of the OK-DE kosher symbol
Nutty Naturals Gourmet Mixed Nuts, mainly sold in Dollar Tree stores, mistakenly lists dairy ingredients in the ingredient panel. This product is Pareve and is correctly labeled Pareve.
Peachwave Frozen Yogurt stores are not certified by the Star-K. The use of the Star-K symbol in the stores is unauthorized.
Port Royal Premium Vegetarian Beans are certified by the OU but limited quantities of non-kosher beans were labeled with the Port Royal Premium Vegetarian Beans labels bearing the OU Symbol. The mislabeled product is being withdrawn from the marketplace. The properly labeled Port Royal Vegetarian Beans contain the letters “FDV” as part of the production code that is on the can.
Knives should only be sent for sharpening to stores which do not pose a kashrus concern. The two main concerns are that the sharpening companies might wash your kosher knife with other non-kosher knives, and that they might switch your knife for an identical non-kosher one. [http://www.crcweb.org/kosher_articles/knife_sharpening.php for details.] The cRc has made an arrangement with the Cutco Kitchen retail store located at 3207 West Lake Avenue in Wilmette, Illinois to sharpen kosher knives if the consumer (a) makes sure their knives are clean before submission, and (b) marks their knives or (if sharpening a Cutco-brand knife) the consumer records the 4-digit item code and the 2-letter year-code engraved on the knife, and verify that they received the correct knives back after sharpening.
There are several drink mix powders on the market that use the brand name of popular sodas (pops) on the market, such as Orange Crush and Hawaiian Punch. These are just brand names that were bought through a licensing process and have no connection to the actual soda company. They would all require a reliable kosher certification on each label.
The following products being sold in Wal-Mart Stores (products of Mexico) bear an unauthorized OK symbol: Great Value Steamable Broccoli & Cauliflower, Great Value Cut Broccoli, Great Value Steamable Broccoli Cuts, Great Value Broccoli Florets, Great Value Steamable Broccoli Florets, Great Value Steamable Broccoli Florets
Heinz has a new line of BBQ Sauces that are certified OU-Fish. These new sauces contain fish ingredients and are not suitable for use with meat.
Heinz Mustard (12.75 oz.) is inadvertently missing the OU symbol from the product label. This product continues to be OU Kosher certified. The OU will be incorporated into the ink-jet code on the cap until new labels can be put into circulation.
The Spinach and Cheese Borekas from Creation Foods bear an unauthorized MK PAREVE symbol. Furthermore, the company has had not had supervision as of FEBRUARY 2016.
Freihofer Bread is made by Bimbo. Many of their Freihofer breads are made in both kosher-certified bakeries and non-certified bakeries. The same name bread may appear in one store with an "OU" or a "KOF-K" and in another store with no hechsher, having been manufactured in a non-kosher facility. It is imperative to scrutinize the label.
Kool-Aid Jammers Drinks pouches in various flavors are not under kosher supervision. Only those Kool-Aid products that bear an OK symbol on the label are acceptable.
Prefer Products Brands, Inc. is packaging and distributing Royal Fine Foods Tahini To Go bearing an unauthorized OK kosher symbol on the packaging. This product is not certified by OK
MegaFlora products of the company FoodState Inc. are no longer under the certification of OK Kosher Certification: MegaFlora Plus 1218B Kids N Us MegaFlora 1219B, MegaFlora FL4200B Flora 5-14 Complete Care, Flora 20-14 Ultra Strength Flora 50-14 Clinical Strength, Flora 200-14 7 Day Intensive 1257B. All other Foodstate and Megafood products bearing the OK symbol are certified by OK Kosher Certification.


Scara’s New York Goumet Italian Ice in the following flavors – Blueberry, Cherry, Lemon, and Sour Apple bears an unauthorized partial cRc logo (the surrounding triangle is missing). The product is kosher, however it was produced on Dairy Equipment. The Italian Ice varieties stated above should not be confused with the Scara’s Chocolate Sherbet, which is actually dairy, cholov stam.


Honest Kids Goodness Grapeness fruit drink is not certified by the OU. This product is being sold in 6 ounce cartons that were placed in large bags that bear an unauthorized OU symbol.
Honest Kids Super Fruit Punch is no longer certified by the OU. Some bottles were labeled with an unauthorized OU symbol. The affected product contains either one of the following production codes: APR2317BAC or APR2317BAD
Johnny Harris BBQ Sauce has discontinued certification of Savanah Kosher and should not be bought without certification. BBQ Sauces with certification on the label may still be purchased.
Dole Mango in Mango Pudding as an OU D-Dairy product.  This product contains dairy ingredients as indicated in the ingredients and allergens statements.  Some packaging was mistakenly labeled with a plain OU symbol. 
Kirkland Signature Chilean Sea Bass has some packaging printed with an unauthorized OU symbol
Brooklyn Brewery Beers that state on the individual bottle “Brewed & Bottled by The Brooklyn Brewery, Utica, NY are K-COR Detroit certified (even if the label does not yet bear the K-COR). Those that state they are brewed and bottled in Brooklyn, NY are not Kosher certified.
Protein Essentials Collagen and Gelatin Protein Supplements bear an unauthorized OK kosher symbol on the labels.
Mylanta brands are now Star-K certified when bearing the Star-K logo: Mylanta Liquid Antacid & Anti-Gas (Maximum Strength Classic, Maximum Strength Vanilla Caramel, and Tonight Soothing Honey Chamomile) and Mylanta Gas Minis (Assorted Fruit, Cherry, and Mint Tablets), distributed by INFIRST HEALTHCARE under license from McNeil Consumer Pharmaceuticals Co., on shelves throughout the US at National retailers such as Walmart and Walgreens.
FrozFruit Creamy Coconut Fruit Bars is an OU- Dairy product. This product contains dairy ingredients as indicated in the ingredients and allergens statements. Some packaging was labeled with a plain OU symbol without the Dairy designation.
Creatine Hydrochloride, distributed by Allmax Nutrition, bears an unauthorized KM certification on the label. The product contains gelatin.
Martina Tuna Chunks in Sunflower Oil are certified by the OU, however, Marina Tuna Chunks bearing the following codes were manufactured without OU supervision and bean an unauthorized OU: MN5INN ALNNBAZ together with any of the following codes 8EB10; 9ABCK; 9AB3K; 9A9CK; 9ACCM; 9AC3M; 9AD3M; 9ADCM; 9AECM; 9AE3M; 9AFCM; 9AF3M; 9AC3K; 9ACCK; 9AD3K; 9ADCK; 9AE3K; 9AECK; 9AF3L; 9AFCK; 9ALCK; 9AM3K
Chocolatey Dipped Ice Cream cones, manufactured by Joy Cone, Hermitage, PA, bear an unauthorized STAR-K Pareve symbol. The cones are Dairy, non-Cholov Yisroel. 
The KMD (Kashrut Maguen David) of Mexico has informed us that effective April 1, 2016 Kahlua liqueur is no longer produced under their certification.
Oregon Kosher no longer certifies I Heart Keenwah products. They are informing consumers that there are packages with both the kosher symbol and without at the following stores: TJ Maxx and Marshalls. Packaging with the kosher symbol were produced under their supervision and are certified kosher. 
The following Lipton and Brisk products are certified as kosher and pareve and do not require a kosher certification on the label: Black Tea Mango, Cherry Limeade, Chilled Black Tea Lemon, Chilled Green Tea Peach Mango, Chilled Lightly Sweetened Sweet Tea, Chilled Sweet Tea, Dragon Fruit, Extra Sweet, Green Tea with Mixed Berry, Green Tea Peach Mango, Green Tea with Honey, Half & Half Iced Tea & Lemonade, Iced Tea & Blueberry Lemonade, Iced Tea Ginseng Honey, Iced Tea Honey, Peach, Iced Tea with Peach, Iced Tea Pomegranate Blueberry, Lemon, Mate Cherry, Mate Mango, Naturals, Not Too Sweet Peach, Not Too Sweet Green Tea with Honey, Peach, Pineapple Passionfruit Tea, Raspberry, Sweetened, Tea with Lemon, Tea & Lemonade, Tropical Lemonade, Unsweetened, Unsweetened Chilled Tea, White Tea with Raspberry
Some varieties of Ferrara Pan Candies are no longer certified by the UMK. Packaging with the UMK symbol is still certified. Please make sure to check each package for the UMK symbol
The Orthodox Union certified Costco’s Kirkland Select Farmed Atlantic Salmon with 4% Salt and Water Solution (Raw and Frozen, a.k.a. “Costco Salmon”), made in Norway. Some of this product is being sold in packaging that does not have the OU symbol. Please note, that this product is manufactured under the supervision of the Orthodox Union and is kosher for year-round and Passover use.
The following CHODOSH information comes from Rabbi Yoseph Herman. (HOT LINE 718-305-5133, EMAIL yherman@earthlink.net)THE OFFICIAL START OF THE NEW CHODOSH SEASON HAS BEGUN! The Chodosh season has begun this year somewhat earlier than usual due to the agricultural conditions in the growing areas. 1)  Freshly baked items using spring wheat, including breads, challahs, bagels, rolls, pizza and some cakes and cookies may be Chodosh in the Midwest after the PURCHASE DATE of Jul 29. Elsewhere in the US, this date would be Aug 12. 2)  Packaged foods from spring wheat may be Chodosh after the PACKING date of Jul 29, or the PURCHASE date of Aug 12. 3) Noodles and pasta may be Chodosh after the PACKING date of Aug 13 and the PURCHASE date of Aug 27. 4) Barley, such as pearled barley, may be Chodosh after the PACKING date of Aug 9 and PURCHASE date of Aug 23. 5) Oats: Oats in all products, including cereals, may be Chodosh starting with a PACKING date of Jul 20, PURCHASE date of Aug 3. (The known exception is for General Mills cereals including all Cheerios, for which the Chodosh packing date is July 31 or later.) 6) Barley malt (also listed in the ingredients as “malt”) may be Chodosh as of the packing date of Dec 15. Package codes should be checked after the purchase date of Dec 15 for beer made from barley malt and Mar 15 for malt in other products. Even though pesach was late on the solar calendar this year, still almost all of the 3 crops of interest were planted after Pesach and are Chodosh. The early harvest this year is due to weather conditions in the growing areas.

The following Chicago area establishments have confirmed that they plan on building a sukkah: Chalavi, Emma’s (please call ahead for time of the portable sukkah), Great Chicago, Hungarian Kosher, Ken’s Diner, Milt’s Barbeque for the Perplexed, Mizrachi Grill, Shallots Bistro and Taboun.
The cRc has prepared two sets of guidelines for Sukkos preparation: Guidelines for the use of some commonly available mat fencing for schach and Guidelines for the purchase and treatment of Esrogim from Eretz Yisrael following a Shnas Shmitta. Both of these documents can be found on the home page of www.crcweb.org
Teds Fruit Market on Devon Ave. is selling Parsley Flakes from a company called Orlando Imports. These flakes are products of Israel and buyers should be aware that these flakes likely grew during the shemittah year.
A new cRc certified kosher cheese is available. “Jacob’s Dream” is a handmade, artisan, Havarti style lightly aged cheese, made and sold by Ludwig Farmstead Creamery, a small dairy in Fithian IL. Visit ludwigfamsteadcreamery.com to purchase and for more information.
The cRc constantly adds items to our recommended and non-recommended liquor list which can be found at http://www.crcweb.org/LiquorList.pdf. An example of recent approved products are the following Jim Beam products which are under OU certification even without the OU symbol on the label; Jim Beam – Honey, Jim Beam - Kentucky Fire, Jim Beam – Maple, Jim Beam - Red Stag.
Mariano’s at 3358 West Touhy, Skokie, IL is selling romaine lettuce that has been carefully checked by a cRc mashgiach. Please make sure the re-packaged romaine carries the cRc logo.
The cRc has recently updated its Starbucks approved list which can be found at the cRc website.  Some of the recent additions include: a) one may purchase a latte’ in any location as long as one orders a latte that is ordered at 115 degree Fahrenheit or less b) for those that do not use regular milk - there is, in addition to soy milk, coconut milk available under the OU c) cold brew coffee (a new item) is a possible issue due to the way it is stored d) Teavana teas are mostly not certified yet (plain tea does not need a hechsher) e) Clover coffee can be ordered if one asks the Barista to use wooden sticks instead of the metal whisk.
Some tostadas produced by Mission Foods bear the cRc with stickers stating “Made in Mexico” Those are NOT certified by cRc and should not be considered Kosher.
Smoked Salmon from Zhoushan Mountain Spring Smoke House Co., Ltd. (Zhejiang, China) is being sold at Jerry’s Fruit Market with an unauthorized OK Kosher symbol (with Kol-K underneath the symbol).These products are NOT certified by the OK.
Paskesz/Sweet’n Low Butterscotch Hard Candy is an OU Pareve product. The ingredient panel mistakenly lists a dairy ingredient that was not used in the production of this Paskesz candy
Daily Chef Strawberry Cheesecake sold at SAMS CLUB has an unauthorized Wisconsin K Logo on the package.  The cake is kosher but the topping and fruit are done individually in each store which are not supervised and should not be purchased as Kosher. Any other Daily Chef Cheese cakes with Wisconsin K Logo are acceptable for use.
OK Kosher Certification does not certify Buddha Tea Company or any of their products.




Some cans of Bruce's Candied Yams, in Kettle Simmered Syrup, distributed in Walmart and other supermarkets, bear an unauthorized Star-K symbol. The formulation was changed and includes dairy ingredients.
Planters Nut Products are acceptable only when bearing an OU symbol. Products bearing a K (which include most Planters Dry Roasted items) may contain gelatin, or may be produced on the same equipment as gelatin products.
Happy Harvest Tomato Sauce sold locally at Aldi in 8 oz. cans no longer bears a reliable Kashrus certification symbol, and is not recommended.
A limited amount of Domino Creamer has been packed with an OK-P (Passover) symbol instead of the OK-D (Dairy) symbol. Please be aware this product is kosher & dairy – not certified for Passover. If any consumer has this product, he should call the 800# on the canister. The product will either be replaced or a voucher will be issued. 
Hunt’s Tomato Sauce’s new “Reseal and Reuse” 33.5 oz. carton is not currently certified and does not bear an OK symbol, and should be considered non-Kosher. (There may also be a 7.4 oz. carton with the same status.)
The OU does not certify Simply Shari’s Brown Rice/Flaxseed & Marinara and Brown Rice/Flaxseed Mac & Cheese. These products bear an unauthorized OU.
Zola Coconut Water produced in the US is certified as kosher by the OU. There is an overseas company that produces the same product with the same brand name that is not certified. Check each item for the kosher symbol.
AA All American Manufacturing and Supply Co. Edible Ink, is manufacturing and distributing various colors of edible ink bearing and unauthorized OK.
Palermo brand Pasta Sauces, distributed by Cosmopolitan Food Group, bear an unauthorized Star-K. The sauces include Tomato & Basil Gourmet Pasta Sauce, Arrabbiata Gourmet Pasta Sauce, and Napoletana Gourmet Pasta Sauce. These products are not kosher.
Sabra is now selling Hummus with Tortilla Chips that carries the Triangle K hechsher. This is unlike the similar looking Hummus with Pretzels that carry the OK/Rabbi Weissmandl Hechsherim. 
Wild Oats Roasted Red Pepper Hummus & Protein Crackers, Original Hummus & Protein Crackers, & Roasted Red Pepper Artichoke Bruschetta & Protein Crackers is certified as OU D - Dairy products. The crackers contain dairy ingredients. Some packaging was printed with a plain OU symbol, without the D.
Jelly Belly Chocolate Dutch Mints is certified as an OU D - Dairy product. This product contains dairy ingredients. Some packaging was printed with a plain OU symbol.
Pre-packaged Godiva products with an OU-D are kosher. All Godiva Chocolate stores and products that do not bear an OU-D are not kosher. Chocolates imported from Belgium, liqueur truffles, items sold by the piece in Godiva Boutiques, Godiva Biscuits and Café Godiva coffees are not kosher.
Cameron’s Chamomile Honey single serve tea has the Blue Ribbon Kosher logo displaced on three sides of their twelve pack box. This tea is not kosher. All of the Cameron’s single serve coffees & several of their other single teas are correctly labeled with the Blue Ribbon Kosher logo on the package or box but the individual lids are not labeled.
Nathan’s Hot Fries Potato Snacks is certified as an OU D product. This product contains dairy ingredients. Some product was mistakenly labeled with a plain OU symbol, without the D designation.
Rosemary & Olive Oil Kettle Cooked Potato Chips distributed by Deep River Snacks was mistakenly labeled with the Kof-K pareve and dairy logo. This product is in fact Kof-K dairy.
La Fe all varieties of seasoned rice, including Yellow Rice, Seasoned Rice & Black Beans, Mexican Style Seasoned Rice and Seasoned Rice & Red Beans, bear an unauthorized OU and are not kosher.
Terrafina Sour Strawberry Laces Terrafina, LLC has unauthorized OK kosher symbol. This is not kosher certified.
Toosum Blueberry and Greek Yogurt Oatmeal Bars is certified as an OU D product. This product contains dairy ingredients. Some packaging was labeled with a plain OU symbol.
The OU does not certify Solutions4 Nutritional Shakes. Some of their chocolate shakes were labeled with an unauthorized OU.
J & Y Trading Inc. Frozen Octopus Whole bears an unauthorized OK kosher symbol on the packaging.
The OU does not certify Kroger Private Selection Cincinnati OH store-baked pies. Some pie boxes were printed with an unauthorized OU mark. Please note that some Kroger store bakeries are certified by local kosher agencies that certify the kosher status of those pies.
Kroger Mini Muffins marked Kof-K without a dairy designation. These are certified dairy as seen in ingredient label.
Zane Foods and Westborn Market brands of Hummus, Babaganoush and Garlic Cream are no longer certified by COR Detroit, even when bearing the K-COR symbol.
First Tea Leafs distributed by First Tea North America. This company is not Kof-K Kosher certified.
Snappers Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Edward Marc, is certified as an OU D product. This product contains dairy ingredients as indicated by the product name. Some packaging was printed with a plain OU, without the D.
Nutritious Creations Low Fat Blondies and Nutritious Creations Low Fat Oatmeal Cookies sold by Nutritious Creations bear an unauthorized Kof-K parve symbol. This company is not kosher certified.
OK Kosher Certification is no longer certifying Annalisa brand beans, pasta and tomato products or any other products produced by Lodato Gennaro. 
Jars of Luna brand Hand Stuffed Olives with Bleu Cheese, and jars of Luna brand Hand Stuffed Olives with Provolone Cheese, bear an unauthorized Star-K. These products are not kosher.
Dolce Chocolate Company, is distributing various chocolates and chocolate covered fruits and nuts bearing the OK kosher symbol without the permission of the OK Kosher Certification, under the names – Dolce Chocolate, Charlie’s & Sam’s Chocolates, Union Street Chocolates, Santa Barbara Fruit & Nut.
Scoville Food Institute, is producing & distributing various hot sauces bearing an unauthorized OK kosher symbol.
Adams Reserve Jalapeno Ranch Seasoning and Adams Reserve White Wine and Garlic Butter were mislabeled as OK (pareve) and not OK-D (dairy)
The OU does not certify Regal Spice Salad Seasoning. This product bears and unauthorized OU symbol.
Mix 1 Life Nutritional Shakes Scottsdale, AZ has an unauthorized OK kosher symbol on the label.

The following Starbucks Via Instant Coffee varieties are kosher for Pesach with only the OU on the label and does not require specific Pesach certification: Veranda Blend Blonde Roast, Pike Place Roast Medium Roast Coffee, House Blend Medium Roast Coffee, Dark Roast Coffee - Italian Roast, Dark Roast Coffee - French Roast and Medium Roast Coffee – Colombia


Hashahar Ha’ole Special Cocoa Spread, product of Israel, is available in pareve and dairy versions. The pareve type, which states Pareve and bears OU-P, is OU certified for Pesach and does not contain kitniyos. The dairy type, which states Dairy and contains kitniyos, bears OU-D and states that the OU supervision is for year round and not for Pesach, and is not Cholov Yisroel. Check each label carefully.
Lieber’s Whole Purple Plums in heavy syrup, in 30 oz. cans, is not Kosher for Pesach. The Pesach marking on the label is incorrect and is crossed out, though on some labels the Pesach wording is still legible.
Fresh Direct freshly ground smooth peanut butter and freshly ground smooth almond butter mistakenly bears the OK-P kosher symbol. The Fresh Direct website correctly lists these products as OK pareve certified for year round use. This product is kosher pareve, but is not kosher for Pesach.
The following Ancient Harvest Quinoa products are usable for Pesach without Pesach certification on the package: Inca Red Grains Quinoa, Tricolor Grains Harmony blend Quinoa, White Grains Traditional Quinoa
The Star-K certifies many appliances that are designed and manufactured with a “Sabbath Mode” which are meant to avoid issues involving a) auto shutoff which shuts off the oven after 12 or 24 hours to conserve energy and/or prevent fires b) lights and signals that go on or off when one opens and closes the door. In recent weeks the Star-K has issued alerts on several brands that utilize this feature that includes Bosch, LG and Samsung. Please see http://www.star-k.org/ for exact model numbers which are affected by this alert.
There is Sprite soda being sold at select Jewel stores and perhaps at other locations and perhaps at other locations that clearly state it is only kosher under Rabbi Landau for year round but the Rabbanut of Tel Aviv states that it is acceptable for Pesach. The cRc is happy to report that the soda meets the cRc standards and may be used for Pesach.
The following brands of parchment paper only require the Star K certification. The "P" Pesach certification is not needed on the label: 365 Everyday Value, Artbake, Beyond Gourmet, Brown Paper Goods, Chef LeBon, Companions, D&W Finepack, Economic Choice, First Mark, First Value, Handy Wacks, If You Care, Master Baker, McNairn, Norpak, Palisades Packaging, Papercon, Paperchef, and The Pampered Chef
The following brands of parchment paper only require the OU certification. The "P" Pesach certification is not needed on the label: Essential Everyday, Everyday Chef, Great Value, Meijers, Reynold's and Roundy's

Kashrut.com is reporting the following information from the OU on what ground meats may be used for Pesach: Meal Mart ground beef should not be used on Pesach unless it bears an OU-P, Solomon Ground Beef (and Solomon Brisket) can be used for Pesach with just an OU and without a Pesach symbol.

  1. Real Lemon lemon juice and Real Lime lime juice are recommended for Pesach even without special Pesach certification.

  2. Raisins need Pesach certification. The following are acceptable with just an OU without a P: CVS Gold Emblem, Dole, Essential Everyday, Gefen, Glicks, Great Value, Kroger, Market Basket, Market Pantry, Nice!, P$$T and Trader Joe’s.

  3. All soaps and body washes are acceptable for Pesach. Any hand sanitizer may be used on Pesach.

  4. Nori requires Pesach certification.

  5. Coffee grinders that were used for flavored coffee or washed with chametz should not be used for Pesach. Coffee makers cannot be kashered for Pesach (including Keurig machines).

  6. Canned items require Pesach certification. All Pillar Rock Salmon in cans (with only salt and water added) are acceptable for Pesach with only the OU on the label. The "P" is not required.

  7. Fresh Salmon is acceptable without Pesach certification but must be rinsed prior to use.

  8. Mirilax powder may be used on Pesach.

  9. Benefiber is chametz and may not be used on Pesach.

  10. The cRc only recommends toothpaste and mouthwash with a hechsher for Pesach. Toms of Maine Wholecare Spearmint and Peppermint toothpastes are recommended for Pesach when bearing a plain OU.

  11. Lactaid milk is acceptable for Pesach if purchased before Pesach.

  12. All lip balms are acceptable for Pesach. It is preferable to use unflavored varieties.

  13. Paper towels may be used with hot food on Pesach. They do not need Pesach certification.

  14. Whole, slivered or chopped nuts are acceptable without Pesach certification whether in or out of a shell, except if they are 1) blanched or roasted (all varieties), 2) finely ground into a powder, such as almond flour, 3) contain BHT or BHA, 4) shelled pecans (all varieties), or 5) peanuts (which are kitniyos).

  15. The following items are considered kitniyos: alfalfa, anise, bean sprouts, beans, buckwheat, canola oil, caraway, chickpeas, coriander, corn starch, cumin, dill seeds, fennel seeds, green beans, hemp seeds, kasha, kimmel, millet, mustard, peanuts, peas, popcorn, poppy seeds, rice including wild rice, sesame seeds, snow peas, sorghum, soy, string beans, sunflower seeds, tofu and tums and are not acceptable for Pesach.

  16. Right Guard Sport and 3D Odor Defense (all Varieties) are recommended for Pesach use.

  17. Frozen Fruit is acceptable for Pesach if it is not cooked, not sweetened (except with plain sugar), and does not contain sensitive additives.

  18. Nescafe Taster's Choice (regular only) does not need Pesach certification. Folgers both regular and decaffeinated do not need Pesach certification.

  19. Quinoa needs Pesach certification to ensure no other grains are mixed in.

  20. A blech may not be kashered for Pesach.

  21. Pure orange juice frozen concentrate does not need a hechsher for Pesach.

  22. All pill medications meant to be swallowed are acceptable for Pesach regardless of their ingredients. In general, vitamins and supplements require Pesach certification. Antacids need Pesach certification.

  23. Both brown sugar and confectioner’s sugar require Pesach certification.

  24. Coconut Oil, Stevia, Honey, and Maple syrup require Pesach certification.

  25. Nail polish and Vaseline do not need Pesach certification.

  26. Both flavored and unflavored seltzer needs a hechsher for Pesach

  27. 100% Pure unflavored extra virgin olive oil does not need a hechsher for Pesach. All other oils require recommended kosher for Pesach supervision.

  28. Granite can be kashered for Pesach. Granite counters are kashered with irui kli rishon-pouring boiling water over the entire surface of the counter.

  29. Quartz Resin countertops may be Kashered for Pesach.

  30. Kamado grills cannot be kashered for Pesach (or year round).

The cRc welcomes Graeter’s Ice Cream store in Northbrook which is now kosher -cholov stam. They are located at 1347 Shermer Road Northbrook, IL 60062
The following Single Serve Coffee K Cups under the PapaNicholas brand are dairy and bear an unauthorized cRc: Hazelnut Cappuccino, Dutch Cocoa, Cappuccino.
Ice cream sandwiches manufactured by Hunter Farms for Harris Teeter Stores bears a plain cRc logo. The "D" Dairy designation was mistakenly omitted. The product is indeed dairy, cholov stam, as indicated on the ingredient panel.
Café Latte Toffee and Caramel Macchiato Toffee under the Walgreens brand were labeled with a plain cRc logo. Both products are indeed dairy (Cholov Stam) as indicated on the ingredients and allergen statement.
The following Gelato flavors Vanilla Marsala, Limoncello, Amaretto Chocolate, marketed under the Gelati Da Brand are certified kosher dairy by the cRc, but mistakenly bear a plain cRc logo. These items are currently being served by Delta Airlines with in-flight meals. The items have actual dairy in them as noted clearly on the packaging.
Kasia’s Potato & Bacon Pierogi bears an unauthorized cRc on the label. While there are many other Kasia’s products that are indeed certified by the cRc, this one particular product is not kosher and the label was printed in error.
The cRc constantly makes upgrades to its liquor list (http://www.crcweb.org/LiquorList.pdf). A comprehensive list of updates will be released in the next few days. The following are some of the recent updates:

For a number of years, Taaka Gin and Vodka products have been certified by the cRc and recommended even without a cRc logo on the package. The company has chosen to withdraw certification on these items, and therefore any bottles purchased after April 1, 2015 should be assumed to not be certified as kosher. Berentzen Apple Liquor, Berentzen, Haseluenne Germany: Neither the OU nor the OK certify Berentzen products. Some Berentzen Apple Liquor bottles have labels with an unauthorized OU symbol and some bottles have unauthorized OK kosher symbol.
Trump Vodka: Super Premium Vodka, H. Pixel trading International Ltd., Rishon LeZion, Israel: A limited amount of 2015 issue bottles of Vodka were distributed by a third party bearing the OK logo and a sticker with the words “Kosher for Passover” printed on them. These were not produced under OK supervision. The OK did certify a limited amount of bottles this year which were produced under special Passover supervision and carry the official OK Hologram on the label.

Jack From Brooklyn is producing and selling Sorel Artisanal Liqueur bearing an unauthorized OK kosher symbol on the label.
Brogan's Irish Cream Liqueur is no longer KLBD Certified and it is not kosher approved.
Boston Beer Apple Ciders: Angry Orchard - Cinnful Apple Cider, Lazy River Red Apple Cider, Lazy River Green Apple Cider were removed from Star-K certification due to a reformulation of ingredients. The Angry Orchard Green Apple Cider and Honey Apple Cider remain certified.
Market Pantry (Target Corporation) White Cooking Wine; Sherry Cooking Wine; Marsala Cooking Wine; Red Cooking Wine: White Wine Vinegar - The OU does not certify cooking wines or white wine vinegar. Some labels were mistakenly labeled with an OU symbol.
Great Value Mountain Lightning Grape soda is no longer kosher due to a reformulation. Check each bottle for symbol.
AirHeads Ice Cream Squeeze Ups and Ice Cream Sandwich are certified OU-D products. These products contain milk as indicated on the allergen and ingredient statements. Some of the packaging for these products were printed with a plain OU Symbol without the Dairy designation.
Whole Foods Lemon Herb with Thyme Cooking Seasoning is an OU-D product. This product contains a dairy ingredient as indicated in the allergen and ingredient statements. Some labels were printed with an OU symbol without the dairy designation.
Friendly Farms Vanilla Almond milk comes with both the OU and OU-D, based on where it was processed. Each package needs to be checked carefully.
MW Polar Mackerel in Brine is not certified by the OU. Some cans are mistakenly labeled with an unauthorized OU.
Agroselprom Variety of Oils, Agroselprom Ltd., Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine on the market is not certified by OK even when bearing the OK kosher symbol.
MacFarms Macadamia Nuts Caramelized Sea Salt variety, bears an unauthorized OU symbol and contains dairy ingredients. The OU certifies a variety of other MacFarms products.
The following Kellogg’s cereals sold in Canada have had a status change from “Pareve” to “Dairy Equipment (DE)” due to manufacturing changes: Rice Krispies Multigrain Shapes, Brand Buds, Corn Pops (all varieties), Froot Loops, Mini-Wheat Crunch. One should be in the habit of always checking a product’s kosher symbol to verify its kosher status and designation. Please note that Froot Loops and Corn Pops are still pareve in the United States. In the USA most mini-Wheats are not kosher - due to gelatin.
Clover Valley Sour Cream and Onion Flavored Potato Chips as an OU-D. This product contains dairy ingredients as listed in the ingredient and allergen statements. Some packaging was printed with a plain OU symbol.
Romi’s Nabulse Cheese bears an unauthorized OU symbol. The OU does not certify any Romi’s Farm products.
Cooper Street Cookies products are no longer certified by the COR (Council of Orthodox Rabbis of Greater Detroit), even when bearing the K-COR symbol, they are not acceptable.
Royal Cakes brand of muffins distributed by Best Cakes Distributors Linden, NJ bear an unauthorized KOF-K symbol. They were produced without authorization and are not certified by the KOF-K.
Schick’s Bakery Raspberry Rugelach certified for Pesach by the OU, the KAJ and the CRC (Hisachdus), were mislabeled as pareve. They are dairy as indicted on the ingredients panel which lists milk, cheese and butter.
Sally Sherman Ravioletti Salad is not certified by the OU. Some Ravioletti Salad were mistakenly labeled with an OU.

Endico Brussels Sprouts (Ace Endico Potatoes, Brewster NY) is not certified by the OU. Some boxes of Endico Brussels Sprouts are stamped with an unauthorized OU.
Salad Bar Creamy Italian Dressing is an OU Pareve product. The ingredient panel mistakenly lists dairy ingredients.
NutMan Swedish Fish (jelly fish type candy) packaged by the B.C.S. International Corporation of Long Island City, NY mistakenly bears an OK Kosher Certification kosher symbol. This product is not kosher.
Beech-Nut Stage 3 Cinnamon Raisin Granola are certified by the OU when bearing the OU symbol. Some Stage 3 Cinnamon Raisin Granola were produced without the OU’s certification and those labels do not have an OU symbol on them. Consumers are urged to look for the OU Symbol before buying products.
Snapple Cranberry Raspberry Juice Drink is no longer certified. This includes regular and diet. The OK Kosher certifies many Snapple products, not all are Kosher certified.
Premier Parchment Paper, Premier Food Packaging, Brooklyn, NY bears an unauthorized OU.
All American Manufacturing & Supply Co. is manufacturing and distributing various colors of edible ink bearing an unauthorized OK symbol on the packaging.
Regal Spice Ham Soup Base and Regal Beef Spice Soup Base bears an unauthorized OU symbol and are not kosher.
Cafe Escapes Café Mocha Specialty K-Cups (Keurig) is not certified by the OU. Some advertising for this product features an unauthorized OU symbol.
Double Bubble Gum that is made by Concord Confectionery in Canada is certified by the OU even without the OU on the label.
Not all Gerber products are certified by the OU. Currently, the OU certifies some Gerber 2nd Food products in 3.5 ounce jars and 4 ounce aseptic cups. As always, consumers are urged to look for the OU symbol before purchasing Gerber baby food.
Ne-Mo's Pull Apart Cinnamon Roll are certified by the OU as an OU Dairy product. This product contains dairy ingredients, as indicated in the allergens and ingredients statements. Some packaging was mistakenly labeled with an OU symbol without the Dairy designation
French’s Real Onion Crisps – Parmesan (Reckitt Benckiser) is certified as an OU Dairy product. This product contains dairy ingredients as indicated in the ingredients list. Some packaging was labeled with an OU symbol, without the dairy designation.
Daily Chef:  Strawberry Cheesecake sold at SAMS CLUB has an Unauthorized Wisconsin K Logo on the package. The cake is Kosher but the topping and fruit are done individually in each store which are not supervised and should not be purchased as Kosher. Corrective action has been taken. Any other Daily Chef Cheese cakes with Wisconsin K Logo are acceptable for use.
Pos'tiv has issued a recall on the following products and they should not be used at this time: all herbs (parsley, dill, cilantro) spring mix • arugula • kale. All other Pos'tiv products (romaine, iceberg, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, etc.) are not affected by this recall, and their kashrus remains intact.
