A few years ago we viewed a video entitled Magnetic Chaos. This video dealt with the effects of what would happen to the people, plants, and animals on the planet when the Magnetic Polls would shift positions again. It showed how our Technology would fail and people and animals would go crazy and be very disoriented. In the spring of 2003 a movie came out to the movie theaters entitled The CORE, which puts a magnetic field collapse into perspective or foreboding of things to come. The video shows or some how works in almost 20 things that the members of the MN Tesla Society should be able to pick out. After the showing of this video at the September meeting we will discuss these and other aspects of it. Are we going to experience something in 2012 like a Pole Flip or something worse. Will you be ready? Will you know what to do? What if it happened today. Here is something that every one should do. 1. Take a quick inventory of your food and beverages that are not in the fridge or freezer. Do you have enough to last 1 week or 2? How about a month? 2. Next take stock of those things that you would need with no power or running water? Do you have the Bejin? Flashlight work? Batteries any good? Water for washing ? 3. Do you have toilet paper to last a week or two? 4. Do you own any camping equipment? Do you have access to some wood so that you can cook or heat water? 5. In any disaster there will be two things that will be required of you. Stay at and in your home and the second would be to evacuate the area and may be never return. What would you bring? Oh and by the way you will be limited to a small duffle bag - like to the gym - if that. Time constraints may also mean that your only given a couple of minutes to run in and get something like during a fire. So is this sort of what the Home Land Defense is trying to get us to do? Is it easy to do , Yes. Can we survive? Will we? Only you can answer these questions. I know for myself I just wish I had that electricity for the Fridge and the deep freeze. Heck just having enough power to run those and maybe a light or two would be a godsend. Now at the August meeting Terry came up with a plan of 12 projects to create some thing. I took a look at them and toss a few out because we need some place to start with off the shelf parts. Yes, conventional but that is just the start. Now Ron F made the comment that he had a motor/generator built from an alternator. Now this is some thing that we can build or at least get running in a short period of time. I picked up 2 alternators, one with the V belt groove and the newer style with the serpentine belt. This is my start so what is holding you back? Once we get this thing working we can always expand from here. I suggest that we get something to run Terry’s electric car first after your own power problems have been dealt with. Download 8.33 Kb.
