Ex-BBC Senior Cameraman with 24 years’ experience in broadcast television.
Originally from the north-west of England, I moved to Cardiff after completing my camera training with the BBC at Evesham in 1987.
I worked on a variety of studio and outside broadcast productions at BBC Wales, and other BBC sites around the UK, becoming a highly competent studio pedestal operator, as well as gaining experience in the use of a broad range of OB and studio camera mounts.
After completing a degree course while at the BBC, I took the opportunity to work part-time as a researcher while continuing to freelance, predominantly under contract to BBC Wales but also for various companies over the years such as Black and White, 021, Avanti and NEP.
In this time I continued to develop my skills, undertaking a post-graduate diploma in film producing and helping in the development of Go Faster Stripe, a stand-up comedy DVD production company based in Cardiff.
In October 2011 I decided to freelance full-time.
I am renowned for my competence, reliability, loyalty and hard work. I can be trusted to work well with others in a team, but also to be self-reliant and motivated to get things done without being asked.
