Bath Walk Programme Jan – March 2015

No Walk

9 Jan

A six Crescent walk.    Start at Lansdown Crescent (by bus) and finish walking at Albert Crescent, visiting six of Baths crescents along the way.  All down hill and on solid roads / paths etc.   Tea and coffee at the end in the Salvation Army café opposite Green Park Station.  An easy walk for the new year. 16 Jan

Top of Bathwick Hill (by bus) and walk to Laura PlaceAll down hill or flat, via North Road, Cleveland Walk, Sham Castle Lane, Sydney Gardens and then down Great Pulteney Street. All on solid roads and paths. Tea / coffee venue to be decided. (Richard)

23 Jan

Linear Park Walk (Robin) River walk to Chelsea Rd and return via the Linear Park. Refreshments at the Bear.

30 Jan

Bathampton to Widcombe.    Bus to Bathampton and then along the canal all the way to Widcombe village. The tow path could be a bit muddy so watch the footwear. No hills, flat all the way.   Tea and coffee in Widcombe. (Richard)

6 Feb

Top of Bathwick Hill (by bus) and then walk to Terrace Walk (Bog Island). All down hill or along the flat on solid roads via Bathwick hill, Sydney Buildings, Pulteney Gardens and then along North Parade to Bog Island. Tea or coffee in the city centre. (Richard)

13 Feb

Top of Widcombe Hill (by bus) and walk to Prior Park Garden Centre for tea and coffee.  All down hill or flat on solid roads taking in Widcombe Hill, Widcombe Manor and then Prior Park Road to the Garden Centre. (Richard)

20 Feb

River walk to Morrisons. Refreshments at Morrissons(Robin)

27 Feb

Lansdown, Charlcombe Lane to Larkhall.

Bus to Lansdown, walk down hill via Charlcombe Lane and refreshments in Larkhall and bus back to the centre. (Robin)



6 March

Walk around Bath Spa university grounds. Bus to Bath Spa university, walk around the lake and grounds and option to walk to Newton st Loe farm shop for refreshments. Bus back to town. (Robin)

13 March

Foxhill (by bus)  and then walk to Prior Park Garden Centre for tea and coffee. This walk is mostly down hill or along the flat and is on solid roads and paths. Takes in a walk alongside the old MOD site and then down into Perrymead ending up at the Garden Centre of tea and coffee. (Richard)

20 March

Bus to Bitton and then a walk back along the cycle track to Salford. Tea/Coffee at the Bird in Hand and then a bus back to Bath (Marion)

27 March

Bus (X39) to Bristol and then a Harbourside walk. Tea/coffee in Bristol centre and X39 back to Bath (Marion)

  • All these walks take 1 – 1.5 hrs (approx) and start from Bath bus station (inside railway station end). Assemble by 10.20 am for a prompt start at 10.30 am every Friday.



  • If we get very adverse weather we shall always try to have a walk but the exact walk planned may have to be altered appropriately. In the event of extreme weather please ring the office to check if the walk is still taking place.





  • You will be required to complete a health questionnaire the first time you join the walk. If you have not done so please ask your walk leader today! Always bring your free bus pass. Please wear suitable footwear and clothing.
