Morgan Givens is a storyteller/spoken-word artist, in Washington, D.C. He has told his true stories to audiences ranging from 50 to sold-out crowds of 1,200. He has been featured in The Washington Post and his work was chosen as one of the 8 best stories of 2015 for Story District's Top Shelf & he's in the running for 2016 too! His work explores the intricacies of race, gender, and the beautiful wonder of words and their power to move and transform the hearts of those who hear them.

Presenters
Thomas ‘Tab’ Ballis, MSW, LCSW, LCAS, CCS

is in private practice at Insight Wellness Services, in Wilmington, NC. He is a faculty member of the University of North Carolina Wilmington School of Social Work. He studied structural/strategic family systems therapy with nationally known expert, John T. Edwards, PhD, assisting Dr. Edwards with training and development of professional education materials, currently serving on the board of the John T. Edwards Foundation www.foundationplace.org.

Peter Eischens, MS, CRC

Mr. Eischens is a doctoral student at East Carolina University in the Rehabilitation Counseling and Administration program. He earned a MS in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in rehabilitation, at St. Cloud State University. As the graduate assistant for the LGBT Resource Center at St. Cloud State University, Peter has spoken in over 100 classrooms on LGBT issues and has trained hundreds of counselors, on working with clients who identify as LGBT+.

Sherra’ White, PhD, LPC, LCAS, CRC, CSI

Dr. White is the Psychosocial Manager for Non-Malignant Hematology at the Levine Cancer Institute. She has nine years of teaching experience ranging from public education, community colleges and four-year institutions. Additionally, Dr. White is an experienced psychotherapist whom specializes in child and adolescent behavioral therapy, relationship counseling, identity issues, addiction counseling, career counseling, and counselor training & supervision.
