Project 2: Health Information Advisor Training Programme – Phase 1

Programme co-ordinators: HI managers at sites, HIA mentors/practice coaches (to be agreed).
Purpose
To prepare HIA staff in the South and North East Regions to use the HI branch of the Medicines Algorithm in CAS clinical release V15 and use the experience to design a training and assessment programme for further training and development of HIA staff in the wider NHSD service.
Scope
The HIA staff from the following sites will participate:
AGW, TVN, Hants IOW, KSS, West Country and Wakefield.
Process

Deliver standardised training across the participating sites.

UKMI pharmacists and NHSD HIA trainer to deliver core content of training

Obtain feedback from trainees at time of training on style and content

Design and agree assessment process using HIA call review tool and HIA AAMW audit tool.

Assess staff at site and agree sign off process to take live calls

Identify core competencies to take medicine calls.
