Studio Facts Background Radical Axis was founded by Scott Fry, one of the first animators on Cartoon Network’s sister network Adult Swim highly rated animated series Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Originally operating out of a storage closet at Cartoon Network’s Williams Street Studio, the company quickly expanded into its own facility in Midtown Atlanta. Today, Radical Axis is one of the fastest growing animation studios in the Southeast, nearly doubling in revenues and employees every year since its inception. Radical Axis provides clients turnkey production services including the creation, execution and delivery of broadcast ready content. Radical Axis has animated more than 75 television episodes for series including Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Squidbillies, Perfect Hair Forever and 12oz. Mouse, and the company is producing the new David Cross, H. Jon Benjamin series Freak Show for Comedy Central. The studio is also working on a full-length animated feature film based on Aqua Teen Hunger Force. The commercial division has produced over 70 projects, an average of a completed project every 4 work days.

Scott Fry is quickly establishing himself as someone to watch in the animation industry. The studio he founded, Radical Axis, has nearly doubled each year in revenues and staff since its inception in 2000. While best known for animating the extremely popular television series Aqua Teen Hunger Force for Cartoon Network’s sister network Adult Swim, the studio also provides animation for three additional Adult Swim series and recently signed on to produce the new David Cross, H. Jon Benjamin series Freak Show for Comedy Central.
CEO and business leader to his diverse experience in advertising, broadcast and film. Having worked in many of the positions that he now leads, his success has literally been “from the ground up”. Scott graduated from Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles with a degree in film. From there he honed his skills working in numerous capacities on both live action and animation projects. His diverse work experience includes positions as an editor, broadcast designer, compositor, writer, producer and director. In 2000, Scott founded Radical Axis, Inc. as a motion graphics and animation company. Originally based out of a guest bedroom in his home, he quickly landed high profile jobs including projects for Cartoon Network and Country Music Television. In 2001, Fry began working on the pilot episode of Adult Swim’s Aqua

Craig Hartin Animation Supervisor Craig Hartin is one of those rare individuals who lives his childhood dream. As a youngster growing up in Birmingham, Alabama, he thrived on Disney movies and dreamed of making animated films and bringing characters to life.
As the animation supervisor at Radical Axis, Craig oversees the studio’s episodic division. In this role, he directs the studio’s animation teams including those working on Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Freak Show,
design, Craig is a graduate of the Art Institute of Atlanta. While still attending college, he worked as a freelancer on animation projects for Georgia Public Television.

Todd Redner Animation Director Animation Director Todd Redner has been part of Radical Axis almost since its beginning. As one of the company’s early employees, he assisted with some of the studio’s first projects, including initial episodes of Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Todd also created initial concepts for another popular Adult Swim series, Squidbillies, and he is the animation director for 12oz. Mouse, an animated series that, along with Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Squidbillies, airs on Cartoon Network’s sister network Adult Swim. In addition, he is the lead character designer for Freak Show, a new animated series created by David Cross and H. Jon Benjamin and produced by Radical Axis for Comedy Central.

Now instead of a few cartoon panels and still characters, he has several minutes and animated characters to tell a story. Before joining Radical Axis, Todd worked as a freelance graphic artist on a variety of assignments including projects for Intercontinental Hotels and Peachtree Software. Philip Self Director of Business Development At Radical Axis, Philip has found a creative home for the business and communication skills he has been developing over the past decade. As the Radical Axis Director of Business Development, Philip is in charge of creating new business for the studio, building contacts within the industry, and working closely with the studio’s clients to assure excellent service. As part of the Radical Axis executive team, Philip brings a unique combination of skills and life experiences to the studio. Winning national awards in business, while working exclusively with C-level leadership of large corporations to secure multi-million dollar agreements, Philip was the leading new agent in the United States for a Fortune 100 company out of more than 2,000 people across the country. Philip is also an experienced public speaker, including regular appearances before crowds in the thousands, various CEO groups, large corporate events, civic organizations, professional teams like the New Orleans Saints before a game, and even hosting several televised events. Philip also enjoys writing, and has been a featured guest columnist for the Atlanta Journal & Constitution, a ghostwriter for sections of two published books, and a copywriter for both radio and TV commercials. On a personal note, Philip is dedicated to humanitarian relief throughout the world, and has repeatedly led large groups into the poorest parts of Mexico, Peru, and Nicaragua. As someone who has watched Radical Axis grow from humble beginnings to it’s current national presence, Philip is excited to be a part of the future success of Radical Axis.
