Workshop/Seminar/Exhibition/VideoFest http://www.hungarian-multicultural-center.com/id93.html HMC International Artist Residency Program, a not-for-profit arts organization based in Budapest, provides national and international artists with the opportunity to produce new work while engaging with the arts community in Budapest, Hungary.

The residency is an opportunity for artists, designers, theorists, writers and curators to undertake a period of focused work at the HMC.
An important part of the creative process is taking time for renewal. Whether you are ready to explore a life-long passion, looking for inspiration or eager to take on a new challenge, HMC has a program designed to help you develop your creativity while experiencing another culture. Budapest one of the world's most beautiful and most vibrant cultural hubs, is a city steeped in history and a favored destination of many travelers.
Each residency includes accommodation, working area, and access to all resources including workshops, library, etc. In selected instances, the residency may also include some basic materials stipend.
We do early jury selections on the third weekend of each month. Apply early! Please indicate (X) when would you like to participate:

Further Information and Costs:
Applications accepted on basis of availability and quality of work.While HMC does not provide funding for residencies, we are helping to facilitate the creation of program, the cost of the exhibitions and cover %40 of total cost, artists cover %60. We encourage the applicants to apply for a grant or scholarship.
Please apply for funding in your home country for financial assistance to participate in our programs. There are also many private foundations that can assist with possible funding. If we can be of any help to assist you in your application please let us know.
The residency is located in down town Budapest. The residence offers shared room/bath as living quarters, and working area, exhibition, ArtistTalk, field trip, gallery tour are included in the cost.
There is a cost to attend the residency of the summer residencies cost: $1250 or Euro 950. The winter residency cost $950 or Euro 700. Longer or shorter stays can be arranged. Artists are expected to pay all travel expenses, personal costs, visa (if necessary), insurance, and to supply artist materials for their use during the residency. We can provide basic materials and tools.Artists are expected to give at least one informal public audio-visual presentation about their work during their residency and to leave one piece of work made during the residency as a donation to the HMC. The HMC will exhibit the artworks several times.
Successful applicant wish to be accompanied by family members or an assistant, it is necessary to consult with HMC beforehand.
Artists will give at least one informal public slide/powerpoint/DVD/CD presentation (30 - 45 minutes) about their work during their stay at the HMC and leave one exhibition ready art work made during the residency as a donation to the HMC. Exhibitions are arranged at the Barabas Villa Gallery in August, 2013.
The Hungarian Multicultural Center, Inc.® (HMC), 501(c)(3), Dallas, TX/Budapest, Hungary based non-profit organization. The HMC dedicated to inspiring, connecting, exhibiting, and promoting artists. The HMC invites interested visual artists, writers, performers to submit application for its residency program in Budapest, Hungary. The residencies offer participants to interact with other artists representing a variety of cultures and backgrounds.
The Artist in Residence Program is open to all artists who wish to work independently on their own projects. Artists may use the residency to accomplish a specific project or to work in a creative and supportive atmosphere alongside other international artists.
Resident artists are able to exchange ideas and experiences through presentations and informal discussion.
Meals are the responsibility of the artists, either individually or communally. There are many shops, supermarkets and a wonderful daily farmers market all within 3 minutes walking distance.
Accommodation prices are per person. This includes bed linen, towels, use of fully equipped kitchens, lounges, internet, etc.
Upon acceptance of your application you will pay $100 deposit of the accommodation charge to reserve your place.
