REVOLUTIONS STORYBOOK PROJECT
1. You and a partner will create an illustrated children's storybook that chronicles the major events of the American OR French Revolutions and describes how these revolutions contributed to the rise of democracy. It should be written in simple, clear language that a 10-year-old could read and understand.
2. Your project will include these features:
A visually appealing cover/frame/slide with an appropriate title.
A brief introduction that describes the prior conditions in the region.
A page for each of these 9 major events
A conclusion page explaining how the French Revolution contributed to the rise of democracy
French Revolution example:
1. Conditions in France in the late 1780s
2. the meeting of the Estates General
the Tennis Court Oath
the storming of the Bastille
Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen
the March on Versailles
National Assembly declares France a republic
The Reign of Terror
The rise & fall of Napoleon.
Conclusion that explains if the Revolution achieved any of the goals of the Enlightenment and the growth of democracy

Each page/frame/slide must contain
an illustration of the event
thought or voice bubbles coming from characters in the illustration
a caption that describes how the event relates to the Revolution and uses the vocabulary appropriate to the Revolution.
Your project will include additional touches to make it artistic and visually appealing-‑ use of color, captions that are typed or neatly lettered in ink, and uses page numbers for example. Storybooks be bound or stapled.
