Soprano Ailyn Pérez added the role of Mimì to her Met repertory this season, having also sung it at La Scala, Hamburg State Opera, and Los Angeles Opera. She made her company debut in 2015 as Micaëla in Bizet’s Carmen. Last season, she starred as Musetta in La Bohème and won the Beverly Sills Artist Award. Later this season, she will return to La Scala as Mimì and Violetta Valéry in Verdi’s La Traviata, and also sing Violetta at the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin.
Tenor Michael Fabiano has sung Rodolfo at the Met, as well as the Seattle Opera, Canadian Opera Company, San Francisco Opera, and Zurich Opera. Since being selected as a winner of the National Council Auditions in 2007, he has appeared at the Met in two Verdi roles – Raffaele in Stiffelio and Cassio in Otello – and as Alfred in Johann Strauss Jr.’s Die Fledermaus and Edgardo in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor. Later this season, he will add a new role to his Met repertory as Alfredo in La Traviata, and in May, he will sing in the Met’s 50th Anniversary at Lincoln Center Gala.
Soprano Susanna Phillips has sung more than 100 performances at the Met since making her company debut as Musetta in 2008. In December, she made her role debut as Clémence in the Met premiere of Kaija Saariaho’s L’Amour de Loin. Later this season she will sing Donna Anna in Mozart’s Don Giovanni at the Zurich Opera.
Baritone Alessio Arduini previously sang Marcello at the Vienna State Opera and is currently a member of their ensemble. He made his Met debut as Schaunard in La Bohème in 2014. His other recent credits include Belcore in Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore and the title role in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro at the Vienna State Opera; Figaro in Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Paris Opera; Masetto in Don Giovanni at the Salzburg Festival; and Guglielmo in Così fan tutte at the Royal Opera, Covent Garden. Later this season, he will sing Dandini in Rossini’s La Cenerentola at the Paris Opera.

The Russian baritone made his company debut in 2013 as a Flemish Deputy in Verdi’s Don Carlo, followed by roles such as Yamadori in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, Silvio in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, and Dr. Malatesta in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale. Later this year, he will sing Dr. Malatesta at the Atlanta Opera and Tsarevich Afron in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Golden Cockerel at the Teatro Real in Madrid.

Later this season, the American bass will sing Escamillo in Carmen at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Oroveso in Bellini’s Norma at the Dallas Opera, and Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor at the Santa Fe Opera.
Paul Plishka has sung more than 1,600 Met performances to date, the eighth most of any singer in company history. The American bass made his company debut in 1967 as a Monk in Ponchielli’s La Gioconda. Since then, he has sung Benoit and Alcindoro 127 times, a Met record. Other recent roles with the company include the Sacristan in Puccini’s Tosca, Dr. Bartolo in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Dr. Grenvil in La Traviata, and Sourin in Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades.
