(If you installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\, the installation package automatically removes it.) See the instructions in the section Uninstalling the Secure Browser on Windows. 7 Section XII.Do one of the following (this step may vary depending on the browser you are using): 7 Section XIII.Follow the instructions in the setup wizard. When prompted for setup type, click Install. 8 Section XIV.Click Finish to exit the setup wizard. The following items are installed: 8 Section XV.If you are running Windows 8.0 or later do the following (otherwise skip to step Section XVI.): 8 a)The Test Policy for AIR setup wizard starts. Click Continue. 8 b)Follow the setup wizard, and click Finish to exit. 8 Section XVI.Ensure all background jobs, such as virus scans or software updates, are scheduled outside of test windows. For example, if your testing takes place between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., schedule background jobs outside of these hours. 8 Section XVII.Optional: Apply proxy settings by doing the following: 8 a)Right-click the shortcut WASecureBrowser7.2 on the desktop, and select Properties. 8 b)Under the Shortcut tab, in the Target field, modify the command to specify the proxy. See Table for available forms of this command. 8 c)Click OK to close the Properties dialog box. 8 Section XVIII.Run the browser by double-clicking the WASecureBrowser7.2 shortcut on the desktop. The secure browser opens displaying the student login screen. The browser fills the entire screen and hides the task bar. 8 Section XIX.To exit the browser, click in the upper-right corner of the screen. 8 Installing the Secure Browser via the Command Line 9 Section XX.Navigate to the Download Secure Browsers page of the portal at http://de.portal.airast.org. Under Download Secure Browsers, click the Windows tab, then click Download Browser. A dialog window opens. 9 Section XXI.Save the file on the computer (this step may vary depending on the browser you are using): 9 Section XXII.Note the full path and filename of the downloaded file, such as c:\temp\WASecureBrowser7.2.msi. 9 Section XXIII.Open a command prompt. 9 Section XXIV.Run the command msiexec /I Section XXV.Follow the instructions in the setup wizard. When prompted for setup type, click Install. 10 Section XXVI.Click Finish to exit the setup wizard. The browser fills the entire screen and hides the task bar. 10 Section XXX.To exit the browser, click in the upper-right corner of the screen. 10 Section XXXI.Sharing the Secure Browser over a Network 10 Section XXXII.On each testing machine, sign in and do the following: 11 a)Ensure all background jobs, such as virus scans or software updates, are scheduled outside of test windows. For example, if your testing takes place between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., schedule background jobs outside of these hours. 11 b)Copy the desktop shortcut WASecureBrowser7.2 from the remote machine to the directory C:\Users\Public\Public Desktop. 11 c)Run the browser by double-clicking the WASecureBrowser7.2 shortcut on the desktop. The browser fills the entire screen and hides the task bar. 11 d)To exit the browser, click in the upper-right corner of the screen. 11 Section XXXIII.Copying the Secure Browser Installation Directory to Testing Computers 11 Section XXXIV.Identify the directory on the local testing computers to which you will copy the browser file (it should be the same directory on all computers). For example, you may want to copy the directory to c:\AssesssmentTesting\. Ensure you select a directory in which the students can run executables. 11 Section XXXV.On each local testing computer, do the following: 12 a)Ensure all background jobs, such as virus scans or software updates, are scheduled outside of test windows. For example, if your testing takes place between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., schedule background jobs outside of these hours. 12 b)Copy the installation directory C:\Program Files (x86)\WASecureBrowser7.2 from the remote machine to the directory you selected in step Section XXXIV.. For example, if the target directory is c:\AssesssmentTesting\, you are creating a new folder c:\AssesssmentTesting\WASecureBrowser7.2. 12 c)Copy the shortcut c:\AssesssmentTesting\WASecureBrowser7.2\WASecureBrowser7.2.exe - Shortcut.lnk to the desktop. 12 d)Run the browser by double-clicking the WASecureBrowser7.2 shortcut on the desktop. The browser fills the entire screen and hides the task bar. 12 e)To exit the browser, click in the upper-right corner of the screen. 12 Section XXXVI.Installing the Secure Browser on an NComputing Server 12 Section XXXVII.Save the file as C:\Windows\System32\GroupPolicy\Machine\Scripts\Startup\logon.bat. 12 Section XXXVIII.Create a group policy object that runs the file logon.bat each time a user logs in. For details, see Section CXXXVII., Creating Group Policy Objects. 12 Section XXXIX.Test the installation from a client by doing the following: 13 a)Connect the NComputing server to a terminal, and connect a keyboard and monitor to the same terminal. 13 b)Turn on the monitor, select the NComputing server, and log in. The secure browser’s shortcut appears on the desktop. 13 c)Double-click the shortcut to run the secure browser. 13 Section XL.Terminal Server Installation 13 Section XLI.Copy and paste the line below into Notepad: 13 Section XLII.Save the file as C:\Windows\System32\GroupPolicy\Machine\Scripts\Startup\logon.bat. 13 Section XLIII.Create a group policy object that runs the file logon.bat each time a user logs in. For details, see Section CXXXVII., Creating Group Policy Objects. 13 Section XLIV.Modify the WASecureBrowser7.2 desktop shortcut by doing the following: 13 a)Right-click the shortcut and select Properties. The Properties dialog box appears. 13 b)Under the Shortcut tab, in the Target field, type or copy/paste the following command: 13 c)Click OK to close the Properties dialog box. 13 Section XLV.From a different computer, do the following: 14 a)Connect to the terminal server. 14 b)Double-click the desktop shortcut to run the secure browser. 14 Section XLVI.Installing the Secure Browser Without Administrator Rights 14 Section XLVII.Copy the entire folder where the browser was installed (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\WASecureBrowser7.2) to a removable drive or shared network location. 14 Section XLVIII.Copy the entire directory from the shared location or removable drive to any directory on the target computer. 14 Section XLIX.In the folder where you copied the secure browser, right-click WASecureBrowser7.2.exe and select Send To > Desktop (create shortcut). 14 Section L.Ensure all background jobs, such as virus scans or software updates, are scheduled outside of test windows. For example, if your testing takes place between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., schedule background jobs outside of these hours. 14 Section LI.Double-click the desktop shortcut to run the secure browser. 14 Section LII.Uninstalling the Secure Browser on Windows 14 Uninstalling via the User Interface 14 Section LIII.Select Add or Remove Programs or Uninstall a Program. 14 Section LIV.Select the secure browser program WASecureBrowser7.2 and click Remove or Uninstall. 15 Section LV.Follow the instructions in the uninstall wizard. 15 Uninstalling via the Command Line 15 Section LVI.Run the command msiexec /X Section LVII.Installing the Secure Browser on Mac OS X 15 Section LVIII.Installing Secure Browser 7.2 15 Section LIX.Open Downloads from the Dock, and click WASecureBrowser7.2-OSX.dmg to display its contents. 15 Section LX.Drag the WASecureBrowser7.2 icon to the desktop. 15 Section LXI.Ensure all background jobs, such as virus scans or software updates, are scheduled outside of test windows. For example, if your testing takes place between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., schedule background jobs outside of these hours. 15 Section LXII.For Mac OS 10.6 through 10.10, disable Mission Control/Spaces. Instructions for disabling Spaces are in the Technical Specifications for Online Testing, available on the portal (http://wa.portal.airast.org) for Technology Coordinators in the Technical Information folder(http://de.portal.airast.org). 16 Section LXIII.Double-click the WASecureBrowser7.2 icon on the desktop to launch the secure browser. (You must launch the secure browser to complete the installation.) The secure browser opens displaying the student login screen. The browser fills the entire screen and hides the dock. 16 Section LXIV.To exit the browser, click Close in the upper-right corner of the screen. 16 Section LXV.Installing Secure Browser 6.5 16 Section LXVI.Ensure all background jobs, such as virus scans or software updates, are scheduled outside of test windows. For example, if your testing takes place between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., schedule background jobs outside of these hours. 16 Section LXVII.Double-click the WASecureBrowser6.5 icon on the desktop to launch the secure browser. The browser fills the entire screen and hides the dock. 16 Section LXVIII.To exit the browser, click Close in the upper-right corner of the screen. 16 Section LXIX.Installing Secure Browser 5.6 17 Section LXX.Ensure all background jobs, such as virus scans or software updates, are scheduled outside of test windows. For example, if your testing takes place between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., schedule background jobs outside of these hours. 17 Section LXXI.Double-click the WASecureBrowser5.6 icon on the desktop to launch the secure browser. (You must launch the secure browser to complete the installation.) The secure browser opens displaying the student login screen. The browser fills the entire screen and hides the dock. 17 Section LXXII.To exit the browser, click Close in the upper-right corner of the screen. 17 Section LXXIII.Uninstalling the Secure Browser on OS X 17 Section LXXIV.Installing the Secure Browser on Linux 18 Section LXXV.Installing the Secure Browser on 32-Bit Distributions 18 Section LXXVI.Right-click the downloaded file WASecureBrowser6.5-Linux.tar.bz2, and select Extract Here to expand the file. This creates the WASecureBrowser6.5 folder on the desktop. 18 Section LXXVII.In a file manager, open the WASecureBrowser6.5 folder. 18 Section LXXVIII.Double-click the file install-icon.sh and select Run from the prompt. The installation program runs and creates a WASecureBrowser6.5 icon on the desktop. 18 Section LXXIX.Ensure all background jobs, such as virus scans or software updates, are scheduled outside of test windows. For example, if your testing takes place between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., schedule background jobs outside of these hours. 18 Section LXXX.If text-to-speech testing is performed on this computer, reboot it. 18 Section LXXXI.From the desktop, double-click the WASecureBrowser6.5 icon to launch the browser. The student login screen appears. The browser fills the entire screen and hides any panels or launchers. 18 Section LXXXII.To exit the browser, click in the upper-right corner of the screen. 18 Section LXXXIII.Installing the Secure Browser on 64-Bit Distributions 19 Section LXXXIV.Install the secure browser by following the procedure in the section Installing the Secure Browser on 32-Bit Distributions. 19 Section LXXXV.Uninstalling the Secure Browser on Linux 19 Section LXXXVI.Installing the Secure Browser on Mobile Devices 20 Section LXXXVII.Installing the Secure Browser on iOS 20 Section LXXXVIII.Installing AIRSecureTest on iOS 20 Section LXXXIX.The AIRSecureTest application download page opens. 20 Section XC.Tap Free. The button changes to Install App. 20 Section XCI.Tap Install App. 20 Section XCII.Enter your Apple ID password. 20 Section XCIII.Under Please Select Your State, select Washington from the drop-down list. 21 Section XCIV.Under Choose Your Assessment Program, select Washington Comprehensive Assessment Program. Tap or click OK. The student login page opens. The secure browser is now ready for students to use. 21 Section XCV.Installing AIRSecureTest on Android 21 Section XCVI.Downloading and Installing the Android AIRSecureTest Mobile Secure Browser 22 Section XCVII.The AIRSecureTest application download page appears. 22 Section XCVIII.Opening the AIRSecureTest Browser and Selecting the Assessment Program 23 Section XCIX.Under Choose Your Assessment Program, select MAAC Assessment Program. 23 Section C.Tap OK. The student login page appears. The secure browser is now ready for students to use. 23 Section CI.Chrome OS AIRSecureTest Kiosk App 23 Section CII.Installing the AIRSecureTest Kiosk App on Standalone Chromebooks 23 Section CIII.If the OS verification is Off message appears, do the following (otherwise skip to step Section CIV.): 24 Section CIV.When the Sign In screen appears, wipe the Chromebook by doing the following: 24 a)Press Esc + + Power. The screen displays a yellow exclamation point (!). 24 b)Press Ctrl + D to begin developer mode, then press Enter. The screen displays a red exclamation point. 24 c)Press Ctrl + D, then press Enter. The Chromebook indicates it is transitioning to developer mode. The transition takes approximately 10 minutes, after which the Chromebook reboots. 24 d)After the Chromebook reboots, the OS verification is Off message appears. Press the spacebar, then press Enter. The Chromebook reboots, and the Welcome screen appears. 24 Section CV.In the Welcome screen, select your language, keyboard, and a network. Back in the Welcome screen, click Continue. 24 Section CVI.In the Google Chrome OS Terms screen, click Accept and continue. The Sign in screen appears. 24 Section CVII.In the Sign In screen, press Ctrl + Alt + K. The Automatic Kiosk Mode screen appears with a yellow exclamation mark. 24 Section CVIII.Click Enable, then click OK. The Sign in screen appears. 24 Section CIX.In the Sign in screen, enter your email and password, then click Sign in. 24 Section CX.Set your Chromebook preferences as desired. 24 Section CXI.When you get to the desktop, click the Chrome icon () to open Chrome. 24 Section CXII.In the URL bar, enter chrome://extensions. The Extensions screen appears. 25 Section CXIII.Mark the checkbox for Developer Mode. 25 Section CXIV.Click Manage kiosk applications located at the top of the screen. The Manage Kiosk Applications screen appears. 25 Section CXV.Do the following in the Manage Kiosk Applications screen: 25 a)Enter the following into the Add kiosk application field: ondcgjblmdblfnmdeoeebaemlckomedj 25 b)Click Add. The AIRSecureTest application appears in the Manage Kiosk Applications list. 25 c)Click Done. You return to the Extensions screen. 25 Section CXVI.Click your icon in the lower-right corner and select Sign Out. 25 Section CXVII.Back at the desktop, click Apps at the bottom of the screen, then click AIRSecureTest. The secure browser launches. 25 Section CXVIII.If you receive the following error message, then the secure browser is not configured to run in kiosk mode. 25 Section CXIX.Configure the test administration by following the procedure in the section Opening the AIRSecureTest Kiosk App and Selecting the Assessment Program. 25 Section CXX.Opening the AIRSecureTest Kiosk App and Selecting the Assessment Program 26 Section CXXI.Under Choose Your Assessment Program, the Washington Comprehensive Assessment Program should already be selected. 26 Section CXXII.Tap or select OK. The student login page will load. For example: 28 Section CXXIX.Click OK. 28 Section CXXX.Mac OS X 28 Section CXXXI.Create a file securebrowser.command on the desktop using a text editor such as pico. 29 Section CXXXII.Copy or type the following the lines: 29 Section CXXXIII.Save the file and exit the editor by pressing Ctrl-O, Enter and Ctrl-X. 29 Section CXXXIV.Apply execute permission to the file. In Terminal, type 29 Section CXXXV.Close Terminal. 29 Section CXXXVI.Click the securebrowser.command icon on the desktop. The secure browser opens with the proxy setting you configured. 29 Section CXXXVII.Creating Group Policy Objects 30 Section CXXXVIII.Expand Local Computer Policy > User Configuration > Windows Settings > Scripts (Logon/Logoff). 30 Section CXXXIX.Select Logon and click Properties. The Logon Properties dialog box appears. 31 Section CXL.Click Add. The Add a Script dialog box appears. 31 Section CXLI.Click Browse…, and navigate to the logon.bat you want to run. 31 Section CXLII.Click OK.
