We are sorry this is a bit more formal than we would like, but we are sure you understand the need to cover all eventualities. By booking your stay with us, you have agreed to comply with the Acorn Glade terms and condition of booking as listed below:
TERMS & CONDITION OF BOOKING:
Arrivals & Departures: The main change-over days (yurts and log-cabins) are Mondays and Fridays. We ask guests to arrive after 4pm on the day of arrival. Guests expecting to arrive after 8pm should contact us beforehand to make the necessary arrangements, and if arriving late, please unpack quietly so as not to disturb other guests. Departures are no later than 11am on the departure day. Please leave your yurt or log cabin as you found it. We reserve the right to charge for excessive cleaning where accommodation has been left in an unacceptable condition. Keys should be left in the door lock prior to departure. There may be a small charge for keys lost or not returned.
Bookings: All prices are per yurt or log-cabin (for a maximum of two persons). We do not charge extra for single person occupancy. We only accept adults over the age of 18 years (no children or pets). The primary booking person must be over 18 years old at the time of booking. The yurt or log-cabin should only be used by those identified on the booking form. The primary booking person is responsible for the other member of the party. We are happy to accept group bookings (but only two persons per unit). Unfortunately, as we are promoting a tranquil atmosphere, we cannot accept Hen or Stag party bookings. For bookings of a week or more, additional linen can be provided, please contact us for details. We are sorry, but our policy is no pets (with the exception of guide dogs on a lead), plus no persons under the age of 18 years, this is due to the lakeside location and proximity of wildlife. Wheelchair access is limited as pathways have inclines and are laid with bark chippings or are grassed (please contact us directly for more details). Acorn Glade strongly recommends that all guests obtain holiday insurance to cover you for cancellation or other personal claims.
Accommodation: All bedding is supplied, including duvets, pillows, sheets, throws and cushions. Please bring your own towels or ask about our ‘Towel Bale’ package. We do not allow guests to erect their own structures or tents on the site. We do not request a deposit to cover for damages, as the majority of our guests are careful. We will only charge for replacement in exceptional cases where neglect or deliberate mistreatment is obvious. We accept that a degree of wear and tear is to be expected. Equally if you find anything broken or not working upon your arrival, please let us know straight away. The ‘Chicken Shed’: The kitchen, wash-room, shower and toilet facilities are for the use of guests, these are essentially ‘off-grid’ so we would request responsible usage. Acorn Glade advises guests that the use of hot water is on a fair-usage basis. There may be times when the hot water or electricity is offline and we will inform you if this is the case. Acorn Glade cannot be responsible for when hot water has been over-utilised.

Rubbish / Recycling: Please dispose of unwanted food daily in the appropriate rubbish bins. Recycle bins for glass, plastic, cardboard and cans are provided.

The Grounds: You are permitted to use the rowing boat, but this is at your own risk as the lake is deep in places and could be dangerous to weak swimmers. No more than two people should be in the boat at any one time. Swimming in the lake is strictly prohibited at all times. In case of emergency, there is a lifebuoy ring sited adjacent to the lake. Please notify us immediately if there is a medical emergency. Guests are advised that some of the pathways, borders or meadow grass may be uneven and are advised to take due care and attention when walking around the grounds. Running is not advised unless you have the correct sports footwear. Those with mobility concerns should avoid uneven areas. Acorn Glade cannot accept responsibility for personal injury sustained whilst on site.

Fishing: The lake is well stocked with still water fish: Carp, Hybrid Carp, Rudd, Bream, Tench and Eel. Day fishing passes are available upon request at £10 per day. You will also require a valid environment agency rod licence, available from the Post Office. We have a strict ‘catch and release’ policy with no keep nets. Disinfectant is provided for dipping landing nets prior to use in the lake.
Glamping Etiquette: We ask that all guests respect other guests on-site and our local residents and keep noise to a minimum. We kindly request that all guests use headphones when listening to music and to adhere to our 11pm noise watershed. Guests are also asked to behave courteously and sensitively to other guests and not disturb others who may be trying to sleep. Any guests found to be very loud, abusive or drunk will be asked to leave the site and will forfeit the remainder of their stay. We reserve the right to decline accommodation and to order any unauthorised person off the premises. We also reserve the right to refuse a subsequent booking. Conversely, we are unable to control the occasional farm noise, local traffic, aerobatic displays, wildlife (geese, ducks, owls, moorhens) or the dawn chorus!
Health & Safety: Fire safety advice must be adhered to at all times and safety notices observed. We take every care to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable holiday, but cannot be held liable for any accidents or consequential loss. Please close all gates properly behind you, particularly around the areas marked as ‘private’ or ‘The Oaks’.
Fires: All yurts or log cabins are equipped with log burning stoves, which can become very hot, therefore, please take the utmost care when they are in use. We will provide your first box of firelighters and matches, but thereafter please purchase more from us or bring your own. Fire wood and kindling is provided, but wood cannot be taken from the surrounding trees and hedges or log piles. You are kindly requested to only use seasoned logs from the designated log store area for the stoves. If you wish, we can provide an axe for cutting kindling, but this is at your own risk. Guests will be held responsible for any fire, damage or alteration to the structure caused by negligence. Each yurt or log cabin has a fire blanket, smoke and carbon monoxide detector and we also provide heat resistant gloves for loading the stove. Outside fires are only allowed in the communal fire pit, but please use the same caution as in the yurts or log cabins for your general safety. The fire pit must be attended at all times and be kept small and manageable using the fire wood provided. Please do not release Chinese lanterns in or around the site as they can pose a serious risk to wildlife and the rural countryside.
Smoking: Smoking is not permitted in the yurts or log cabins, decking or any other buildings. Smoking is only permitted in outside areas and to avoid being consumed by the wildlife, discarded cigarettes must be disposed of safely in the smoking bucket filled with sand adjacent to the Chicken Shed. No illegal substances are to be possessed or consumed on site. We ask you to consume alcohol in moderation and to be considerate to other campsite users.
Bicycles: Guests bringing their own bicycles should ensure they are locked, please bring locks with you. We provide anchor bolts to lock your bike to, but cannot be held responsible for damage or theft to bicycles left on the property. Bicycles are NOT permitted in the yurts or log cabins.

Weather: If at any point we deem the weather to present a potential risk to guests or yurts or log cabins, we will reserve the right to cancel your stay and offer a refund for the remaining days of your stay, as a percentage of the total booking paid.

Loss or Damage to Personal Items: Please note that we cannot be held responsible for any theft or damage to your belongings so please take care of them. All yurts or log cabins are lockable and it is strongly recommended that you secure the units when leaving them unattended. We accept no liability for any accident, injury, loss or damage sustained by any resident, vehicle or personal effects however caused. You agree to pay for any losses or damage to the property caused by you or your party (normal wear and tear excluded) and we reserve the right to terminate your stay if any of your party are not treating the property with due respect.
Privacy Policy: Any data collected at the time of booking is retained via our electronic online booking provider via cloud computing. Keeping records of our guests, which may be inspected by the local authority, is a condition of our planning approval but these records will not be passed on to any other party. Your contact details will remain on our database and you may receive information from Acorn Glade from time to time, unless you expressly wish this information to be removed.
Complaints Procedure: Any complaints must be made known to us immediately. We take customer satisfaction and feedback very seriously and therefore any major complaints should be followed up by email or a letter to us.
Thank you for agreeing to these conditions of booking and we are looking forward to meeting you and hope you have a great holiday at Acorn Glade.
