Know what chord factor is doubled in the three-note augmented sixth chord.
Be familiar with the alternate spelling of the Gr6 chord in major.
Be able to describe why the Gr6 is useful as a pivot in modulation, and be able to spell it as the other-type chord.
Be able to describe the results of modulation in terms of direction and interval regarding the three modulation formulas (V7 = Gr6, V7/V = Gr6, Gr6 = V7).
There will also be several part-writing examples involving augmented sixth chords, some involving modulation. You will be asked to do part writing and provide Roman numeral analysis symbols.
