- The research will examine the effect of work-life balance on employee performance in the healthcare industry. Therefore, the study is limited in terms of methodologically (the researcher will use stratified sampling to collect data from employees and simple random sampling the researchers to determine the number of each stratum), geographically (the study only in Dil Chora Referral Hospital in Dire Dawa) and conceptually (the effects of Work Life Balance on employee’s performance).

Sample size determination Thus, to determine the number of respondents will be taken from hospital, the study will follow Taro Yamane formula and the researcher will find sample size. n=N/1+N Where n=sample size N=total population e= error term =5% (0.05) The target population =553 n=N/1+N n= 553/1+553(0.05) n=553/1+553(0.0025) n=553/1+1.3825 553/2.3825=232.10~ 233 employees So, the total number of samples (healthcare workers) that should have participated in our study is 233. 3.10 Method of Data analysis - In this study both descriptive and inferential method of data analysis will be used. Descriptive analysis will undertake by percentage, frequencies, mean, and standard deviations.Furthermore, the information will be cleaned, coded and entered in the SPSS software for version 23. The researcher will do inferential analysis. In inferential analysis the researcher will use Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analysis so as to show the correlation and extent of relationship between (leave policy, flexible working arrangement, family responsibility, employee’s assistance program, and welfare policy) and employees’ performance. Finally, an ANOVA test will be tested to find out if there is a significant difference between the independent variables on affecting the dependent variable.
conti... - The research will use the following regression model:
- Y=ß0+ß1X1+ß2X2+ß3X3+ß4X4+ß5X5+ε
- Where Y= Employee performance
- X1= Leave policy
- X2= Flexible working arrangement
- X3= Family responsibility
- X4= Employee assistance program
- X5= Welfare policy
- β0= the coefficient intercept
- β1, β2, β3, β4, β5 = Coefficients of determination
