THE VINTAGE AUTOMOBILE MUSEUM OF NJ SPEAKER’S BUREAU
The Vintage Automobile Museum of NJ (VAMNJ) was founded in 2000 for the purpose of promoting the preservation, education, entertainment and enlightenment of vintage automobiles and to foster the knowledge of New Jersey’s long history of automobile manufacturing and heritage. Although a physical museum building does not exist at this time, members of the organization can make presentations to various groups and organizations through its Speaker’s Bureau via PowerPoint type slide presentations on the following topics:
“The Vintage Automobile Museum, Where We Are and Where We Want to Go” – A description of the aims, progress and current status of the creation of VAMNJ, the only public automobile museum in NJ. 20 minutes
“History on Wheels” – A description of our highly successful hands-on program designed to educate students on how the automobile impacted society, how society impacted the automotive industry and the technological changes that occurred in the automotive industry in each decade. 15 minutes
“The Origins of the Great Names in American Automobiles or The Inbreeding of the Automobile Industry” – A history of how the best known American automobiles were developed, the men behind their creation and how the car got its name. The program features pictures of numerous examples of each make of automobile many of which are owned by the museum and its membership. 45 minutes
“Corvette – America’s Sports Car” – A description of the development of the Chevrolet Corvette and how it changed from its creation and introduction in 1953 to the present day. 30 minutes
“The Dawn of the Automobile” – A historical review of the invention of the self-propelled vehicle and the creation of the modern automobile. 20 minutes
“Those Fabulous Fins of the Fifties: The Automobile Takes Flight” – A pictorial and historical review of the people, influences and technologies that resulted in the flamboyant and unforgettable cars of the 1950’s. 30 minutes
“The New Jersey Parkway System” – The history, design, construction, impact and future of the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway. 30 minutes
