We have a really fun golf tournament planned for this year! 2013 marks the 25th Annual United Way Golf Classic, and this year we are excited to partner with Clayton Holmes, four-time NFL Super Bowl Champion. Clayton is bringing a group of his buddies from the NFL to play in the tournament, and you have the opportunity to have one of these great NFL players (at least great on the football field, their golf skills we will find out….) to be a part of your golf team foursome. New this year! Monday June 10th, 5:30PM at the Wenatchee Convention Center we will host a special Dinner and NFL Celebrity Auction. Nesby Glasgow will provide a keynote address. Nesby is a former University of Washington and Seattle Seahawk defensive back. Today, he works for the Pacific Institute in Seattle, an organization considered an expert in translating the latest research from the cognitive sciences into practical, easy to understand and implement concepts and principles. The approach is well-conceived, well-regarded, and most importantly, well-executed by highly trained professionals who know the value of change – be it for individuals, groups, government bodies or business. Dinner: The various sponsor levels include dinner, see Sponsor Opportunities for details. Additional dinner tickets can be purchased for $35.00/person. Anyone is invited to attend the dinner, regardless if they are playing golf or not. The Auction: We will auction 10-15 NFL celebrities. The highest bidder will have their choice of players to be a part of their golf team, the auction will continue until all players selected to be a part of the auction are acquired. What this means to your team of four. If you are the winning bidder someone from your team will have to agree to be replaced by the NFL personal. Team members who are “bumped” will be put together to form a new golf team foursome. Everyone will get to play golf on Tuesday. The Players: To date we have the following confirmed: Nesby Glasgow –University of Washington, 14 years as defensive back, 5 years for Seahawks, Alonso Mitz – 1986-91, defensive end, 6 in NFL, 4 with Seahawks; Randall Morris – 1984-89, 4 years as a running back for Seahawks; Joe Tafoya – defensive end/linebacker, 2001-08, one year with Seahawks; Lawyer Malloy - University of Washington, New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, Atlanta Falcons and Seattle Seahawks; Jourdan Babaneaux – 2004 to present, signed with Seahawks in 04, currently plays for the Tennessee Titans; Kerry Justin - cornerback for the Seattle Seahawks, 1978–83 and 1986–87; Michael Jackson - 1991-1998 for the Browns and the Baltimore Ravens; Mack Strong - Seattle Seahawks former fullback player and assistant running back coach; Julio Cruz - former professional baseball player who played second base in the major leagues from 1977-1986, 6 years in a row with the Seattle Mariners.
