The concept of holding a Home Computer Show in addition to the well established and highly successful Irish Computer Exhibition-COMPUTEX —came from within the industry itself. The HOME COMPUTER SHOW addresses a new and distinct market segment which cannot be catered to at a business systems show such as COMPUTEX.
This new market is made up of young people interested in developing their computer activities for the future, educators and business and professional people interested in systems for their personal use.
The development of this market through promotional events such as the HOME COMPUTER SHOW will not only increase the demand for entry level systems but will create a greater acceptance of the ad-
vantage of computerisation among the managers and administrators of the future.
We would like to thank all those who have been involved in the organisation of this event and particularly to congratulate the publishers of Micro News and Market on the excellent catalogue which they have produced.
