May 26, the fourth round started with a protest on the code of one of the programs. It gave a delay of the start of the round for at least one match. The tournament director and the assistant tournament director decided to investigate this situation seriously and after one hour the round was in full swing. Since the investigations are not definitely concluded we restrict ourselves to the results of this round. The top meeting Junior-Shredder was an exciting fight in which Junior reached a winning position but Shredder had much counterplay in a very tactical situation. The unbalanced material at both sides gave black unexpected changes. With many tactical tricks black even managed to keep the position. The draw that resulted kept both programs at the first place. World champion Zappa did not manage to reach also a top position since it had to concede in a draw to Rajlich. The game was a tough fight but no side ever had a real chance to win. Diep played with black a Sicilian game to Lion++ and won convincingly. So it came next to Zappa on a tight third place. Jonny won against Chiron whereas Crafty drew against Spike. The game was rather long but the result was fair. ParSOS and Isichess catched up their position and are now at 50%. By winning its game against Etabeta FibChess left the last position and scored its first point.
