Dear Brother James,

After a long time, I write to you these few lines to say I hope to find you well and in good health, as this leaves me at present. Dear Brother, I was glad to hear that you and my brother, Pat, were living. Let me know how all ye family are. Let me know were ye wives Irish ? How long is my brother Tim dead ?

My daughter Maggie, that was writing to your daughter, Maggie, is dead! She died last Dec.

The eldest daughter I have is in N.Y., and Tommy in New Haven. I buried their mother 8 years ago.

Dear Brother James, the last letter I received from you was 30 years ago. Brother, answer this letter quick, and show it to my brother, Pat. I was sorry when I heard about my brother Tim's death, but we all must die. I buried a young girl, 22, just 4 years ago.

Dear Brother, let me know what and how you have the land cultivated ? I am 78 years of age now but I'm very healthy. Times are no good now. A small share of money would be of great help to me now. Let me know if you have any account of brother John and family. It would be a consolation for us to hear from all of you, before I die. I have no more to say at present.

I remain you faithful brother, Thomas.
