From Martin L. Yokum: Jacob Yoakum died at the home of his son-in-law, Valentine Simmons. His wife left Hardy County to live with daughter Rebecca in Bourbon County, Kentucky, where she died. She applied in Kentucky for a pension when she heard of Jacob's death, but was rejected. Rebecca also tried for the pension due her mother.
