E. Hanging Plant: Also known as hanging basket plant. They could be annual or perennial, flowering or foliage. They are grown in decorative containers and hung by equally elegant ropes from the ceiling in the patio, in doorway areas or from decorative plant post. Examples are Geranium, Spider plant (Chlorophyll cosmosum)
F: House Plant:Are indoor plants adapted to indoor conditions. They are grown in containers and are usually slow growing and may be flowering or foliage plant. Examples are Sansivera spp and India rubber plant (Ficus elastica).
WOODY ORNAMENTAL PLANT
They differ in sze and growth pattern. Some shed their leaves and are called deciduous, whereas others maintain fresh leaves all year round and are called evergreen. Some are shrubs, trees. Woody ornamental plants may be grown in a garden along with herbaceous perennial. When choosing this plant, attention should be given to the colour, shape and adaptation.
SHRUB
A shrub is a perennial woody plant of relatively low statue and usually produces multiple stems that arise from the ground or very close to the ground. Shrub maybe used as hedges or ground covers and can be classified as deciduous or evergreen.
DECIDUOUS SHRUB
This shed their leaves at some point in the year. Examples are Lilac (Xylinga vulgaris), Honeysuckle (Lomiecera japonica), and Barberry (beberic spp).
EVERGREEN SHRUB
These can further be divided into two groups according to the leaf size
Narrow Leaf Shrub: this has needle-like leaves as in Pine (Pineaus spp), Juliper (Juliparous spp)
Broad Leaf Shrub: This has a large leaf lamina as in Gardenia (Gardenia spp), Rhododendron.
TREE
These are the largest plant material in landscape and thus should be located with care. They can overwhelm a house in adult stage if inappropriately planted. Trees can also modify the local climate. Examples are shade tress and serves as wind breaks. Trees could be deciduous examples are birch and willow or evergreen examples are narrow leaf (spruce and red cedar)
