There are many standards to measure the Internet development. Only from the Internet penetration, Internet development in Asia-Pacific region has now been divided into the developed and less developed. The Internet penetration of economically developed areas is more than 65%, such as Taiwan (79.2%), Macau (72.3%), and Korea (84.1%).

Malaysia’s Internet development is in the second class “20%-65%”, which is 60.6%.

Meanwhile, the Internet penetration in the majority of Asia-Pacific is not so high, such as Chinese Mainland is 42.1%. Although the number of Internet users in Chinese Mainland is top around the world, the penetration rate (42.1%) is relatively lower than other developing countries. Internet penetration is closely linked with a country or region’s economic development.
