Appendix D-6: Description of Advisement Procedures for Undergraduates and Graduates

There are separate Academic Advisement Offices for undergraduates and graduates in the Robinson College of Business. Students are alphabetically assigned to advisors. Typically, unless an advisor leaves the department, the student would therefore have the same advisor throughout their program.
The School of Hospitality supplements the advisement process. As described below in the School of Hospitality Student Orientation material, students are encouraged to see their College Academic Advisors on a regular basis. For more focused career advisement including selection of electives and work experience options, they are encouraged to utilize faculty resources. A list of faculty with their industry specializations is provided to students in the orientation material. Faculty have an “open door” approach, however, in advising any hospitality student or potential student regardless of their career focus.
