ABOUT THE AUTHOR

David Bowman is retired from the U.S. Naval Reserve, having served twenty-five years, two years of which were in the Vietnam War. He served on two cruises with VF-194 aboard the USS ORISKANY in 1969 and 1970. Almost needless to say, both the USS ORISKANY and VF-194 are now history. During his time in the naval reserve, Dave spent ten years in Naval Reserve Intelligence.

He is also the author of two previous books, the award-winning LEGERDEMAIN, which was published by Saga Books in Canada, and THE FORGOTTEN STARS, published, like this book, on Amazon Kindle. LEGERDEMAIN placed as a Finalist in the 2008 National Best Books competition under History /U.S./Nonfiction. He is a member of the Amelia Earhart Society.

Mr. Bowman holds two degrees, one in accounting from a small school and one in general studies from the University of Washington. He is also retired from a career of over thirty-one years with the State of Washington.
