Court assignments may change to minimize delays in the tournament schedule.

6.10 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

6.10.1 Participants

Northern and Southern Divisional champions as determined by regular season play.


6.10.2 Format

A one game playoff between the winners of Northern and Southern Divisions.


6.10.3 Date

The championship will be played on Saturday one week prior to the start of the NCAA Division II Football playoffs (November).


6.10.4. Site

The site of the football championship will be determined on an annual basis.


6.10.5 Management

The Conference Office will be responsible for the management of the championship game.


6.10.6 Rules

The Football Championship will be conducted in accordance with NCAA and CIAA rules and regulations.


6.10.7 Game Ball

The conference will supply game balls for the championship game.


6.10.8 Officials

Officials for the Football Championship will be assigned by the conference Supervisor of Football Officials.



6.10.9 Awards

a. The following awards will be issued at the conclusion of the championship game:

1.Championship Team Trophy

2.Most Valuable Player Award for the team winning the championship

3.Most Valuable Player Award for the runner-up team

6.11 BOWLING CHAMPIONSHIP
6.11.1 Participants

Each participant must be certified and eligible for competition.



6.11.2 Date

a. To be determined by the conference office.

b. All teams are required to attend the scheduled awards ceremony, prior to the

tournament.

c. There will be a mandatory meeting of coaches prior to the start of the event.

6.11.3 Site

The site for the championship will be recommended by the coaches’ association and

approved by the conference office.

6.11.4 Management

The conference office and the championship committee will be responsible for the

management of the championship. With the assistance of the host institution and the

appointed sports information director.



6.11.5 Rules

Rules governing women’s bowling will be in accordance with the NCAA and CIAA.



6.11.6 Behavior of Members

All member institutions shall adhere to the policies of conduct for athletes, coaches, and other persons involved with member institutions. Coaches must inform student-athletes of proper personal conduct before, during and after bowling matches. Misconduct will result in action being taken by the Conference Office. The following rules of conduct are expected to govern behavior:



  1. Abusive and profane language is prohibited.

  2. Coaches are responsible for all team members' behavior.

  3. Equipment abuse will subject the offender to disqualification from competition and possible fees for the replacement of items.

  4. All bowlers are encouraged to remain in the immediate bowling area.

  5. Unsportsmanlike conduct including deliberate fouls, unusually loud or vulgar language, or abuse of equipment and facilities is not permitted.

  6. On lane courtesy will be in effect at all times.

  7. CIAA officials or Coaches shall have the authority to remove anyone from competition for any of the above reasons.

  8. No audio equipment (headphone, etc.) should be allowed in pit area by bowlers during matches.

Any athlete ejected from any match for unsportsmanlike conduct/fighting will automatically be suspended from participation in the next competition, including post-season play. Ejection twice in a year will result in suspension and/or fines. A fine of $100.00 may be assessed after an investigation by the Commissioner. A fine of $500.00 may also be assessed for unsportsmanlike behavior by a head coach after investigation by the Commissioner.


6.11.7 Protests

During CIAA Championship, all disputes will be handled on-site by the conference office

and/or the tournament game committee. All questions concerning conference rules should

be directed to a conference administrator on-site.



6.11.8 Dress Code

Uniform: Each team member must wear shirts that are identical in style, color, print and design. All shirts must have a collar similar to golf or polo shirts. T-shirt necklines are not allowed during competition. All shirts should have players' assigned number displayed 1.5” high on the left arm. Shirt designs must meet CIAA and NCAA guidelines. Women will be required to wear trousers, shorts, or walking shorts. Each team player must wear identical trousers, shorts or walking shorts in color, print or design. Trousers must not contain drawstrings or elastic bottoms (ankles). All apparel worn by women must be loose fitting and not made of denim, fleece, nylon or spandex-like material. A neat appearance in both clothing and personal grooming is required. If a bowler is out of compliance with the dress code she has five (5) minutes to get the item(s) corrected or a substitute must be submitted who is in compliance. If there is no substitute who is in compliance the team will receive 0’s for that bowler until compliance is met or the player will not be able to participate.



      1. Officials

Championship site is required to have a Head Official, a Tournament Manager and an on-site Athletic Administrator from the host institution.

6.11.10Awards

  1. Conference Champion

  2. All-Tournament Team (5 member team - cumulative player average from tournament games)

  3. Tournament Most Valuable Player
