"Meiher lieben schwester von walter" (My dear sister from Walter) black iron cross, horses head and a schrub/tree with leaves. Much of the original gilt inlay remaining. Steel stirrup hilt with plain dove head pommel. Wire bound leather grip. No scabbard. Hard to find in Australia. King George the fifth cypher to blade, along with lovely acid etched battle honours of the guards regiment. Steel scabbard with double ring hangers. Numbered 45825 to backstrap of blade. Very light wear patches to scabbard. This is a delightful example of a guards regiment sword that would greatly enhance any period collection. 4669 GERM WW2 Luftwaffe "Fliegerschwert" Sword hanger. Blue Moroccan leather with pebbled aluminium fittings. Bottom snap fastening marked DRGM. This sword hanger belonged to Hauptman Horst Berkermann who was shot down over the North Sea in 1942. Grade II $250

4670 JAP 1899 PATTERN SWORD OF A HANNIN (JUNIOR) OFFICIAL IN THE GOVERNMENT-GENERAL OF FORMOSA. Black same grip with plain brass wire binding to the grooves. Hilt fittings are gilded brass with a stippled background. Sakura shaped screw head to the top of the pommel. Engraved leaves design to either side of the knucklebow at the pommel end. The backstrap has side-ears with raised formosan "double triangle" badges on each side. There is a small folding rear guard which engages a raised stud on the reverse of the top scabbard mouont to secure the sword in the scabbard. There is a small "SA" stamped to the underside of the knucklebow. Single edged, grovved, chromium-plated blade in VGC. Black lacquered scabbard over a wood liner, few edge chips to the black finish. The three gilded, stippled brass scabbard mounts all have heart shaped "Boars Head" designs. 2 x raised suspension bands. The sword and scabbard have O/A wear to the gilt finish. Only a few examples of this sword pattern have been reported so they may be considered as rare. Grade II- $1050*
4671 JAP CIVILIAN KATANA, POSSIBLY SHOWA-PERIOD BUT MAYBE EARLIER. Tight black binding over white same. Has been rebound at some time in the past. Small strip of the same replaced. Unusual brass menuki, one appears to be a bird, the other a human figure holding onto an unidentifiable object. Blackened iron kabuto-gane and fuchi with separate copper coated brass designs partially inlaid into the iron surface. Designs appear to be a basket and maybe a sea creature, both with long interwoven thin tendrils, some of these tendrills now missing. Plain blackened iron tsuba with cut out section to either side. Brass seppa and dai- seppa to either side. Some sideways movement to the tsuba. Brass habiki with partial woven diamond shaped designs to both sides. Blade has areas of mainly very light pitting, blade edge in VGC. No signature to the tang which has two mekugi holes. Plain black lacquered wooden saya with no fittings. An unusual and nice example. Grade II- $2500

4704 GERM WW1/2 TRENCH KNIFE. Black chequered plastic grips (small chip to top right corner of left grip). Steel crossguard and pommel, similar shape as the army parade bayonet, have been originally painted black. Majority of the black paint now worn off. Typical trench knife style blade with remains of a dark finish. No makers mark. Black steel scabbard (still retaining much of it's finish) with leather belt loop attached. Grade II- $500
4705 GERM PRE WWI STAG HOOF HILT KNIFE. Single edged blade made by Puma Solingen. Brown leather scabbard with nickel-silver fittings. Hair on the hilt now worn due to use/age. A very popular design that found it's way into WWI trenches. Grade II- $350*

Large bone knuckle handle. Carved design with human hair, 7 tassels. C/W carved wooden scabbard style as wing? Small skinning knife. Grass/reed bindings and rope belt. A nice trible piece with an interesting and sinister purpose. Grade II- $500

4828 GERM WWI 1915 DATED DARK BROWN LEATHER HOLSTER. For the longer barrelled model 1906 Navy parabellum (luger). Has provision for a cleaning rod (a narrow compartment to the front side of the holster). Holster shows service wear, age crazing to the leather on the front of the holster. Leather to the reverse side is in excellent condition but one belt loop replaced. A rare luger holster. Grade II- $450
