(Only remnants of white paint remaining to both Kokardes). Shows O/A wear with a few repaired small holes/cuts to top of cap. Faint Owner's name to inside of cap. Grade III+ $200

Cap shows light service wear to the inside woollen edging with a couple of small moth nips and another two small nips to the exterior to right side but these are not very noticeable. 5112 US WW2 CAP, WOOL, KNIT, M-1941. The archtypical "Radar O'Reilly cap" (after the M.A.S.H. character) was worn comfortably under the M1 steel helmet. Couple of minor moth grazing areas that are hardly noticeable. 1 small hole under the visor peak. Hard to find. O/G wool. Tag missing. Grade II- $85

5118 GB/SOUTH AFRICA HELMET, AVIATION, CORK, 22C/13. Sun Helmet style issued to RAF Pilots. Well & truly outdated for practical flying use before WWII, but still issued to end of 1942. This 1942 dated example is in excellent condition & has had the side flaps removed for use only as a "Sun- Helmet". Broad arrow marked, Size 7 1/2, by. Failsworth Hats Ltd. England. Green felt interior shows no mothing. Couple of minor light stamps to front left temple. Gde II+ $650

5121 GB WWI ROYAL FLYING CORP LEATHER HELMET. Brown leather with neck flap and peak. Beige coloured chamois lining showing some wear and light soiling maker's label present, "Le Dux registered......made in England." Press stud adjustable ear flaps. Couple of small holes caused by wear to both sides of the helmet near the ear flap adjusting studs. Brown leather chinstrap with press stud adjustments. Grade II- $650*

5122 GB/AUST WWI RFC MARKI FLYING HELMET. Dark brown leather with 3 brown stud closures to each earflap. 2 brown leather cylindrical ear pads. Missing buckle side of the chinstrap. Black fur lining with some wear mainly to the fold-up peak. Ink stamping to exterior below the left side earflap "Leather and fur made in England." Minor scuff marks to the exterior, leather still very supple. Grade II- $650*

5123 GB/AUST WWI RFC MARK I BROWN LEATHER FLYING HELMET AND GOGGLES. The front brown leather peak is partially unstitched on the l/s. Has press stud ear flaps and cylindrical ear pads. Brown leather chinstrap with a leather covered buckle. Leather still supple. The interior is badly insect damage, only remnants of the fur lining remaining. The underside of the peak has no fur remaining and has further insect damage to its remaining white leather underside. The accompanying flying goggles are marked "Goggle Mask Flying, Mark II, The Triplex Goggle Mask and Lens Co. Ltd. 'A' over Broad Arrow". Dark brown leather with badly crazed and discoloured glass lenses in brass frames which have now green oxidization. Reverse fur lining badly insect damaged, only a small portion remaining. Elastic head strap. One lens frame has become partially unstitched from the leather body, with its peak in the down position. This flying helmet still displays quite well on a mannequin head. Exterior of the Flying Helmet: Grade II-. Interior, Grade III. Goggles, Grade III- $350*

Has throat microphone. Comms lead cut short near helmet. Makers label to interior lining, nickel plated fittings. Grade II- $550

5128 GERM WW1 M1913 BLACK LEATHER PILOT'S CRASH-HELMET AND GOGGLES. Helmet showing O/A service wear/age to the black finish. Narrow front leather peak with a rough textured black finish, now also showing wear/age. Natural brown leather underside. Brown leather left side flap with a semi-circular ear flap and a steel buckle (surface rust) to the end of the strap. Missing right side flap and strap, rear black leather neck flap (one small hole, top centre) A black ink stamp giving the aviation battalion's name, location and date. "FLG. Bekldoberitz 1918". Right end of visor and the right end of the neck flap are both partially unstitched where the right flap is missing. Brown leather nine tongued liner, leather dry but otherwise in G/C. No drawstring. Beige and grey fabric googles with metal framed glass lenses and an elastic head strap with hook and ring fasteners. Goggles showing some service wear/age. A rare aviation troops set which still displays well from the left hand side. Apart from the missing R/S flap. Grade II- $2000*

5143 US POST WW2 FLIGHT DECK USN FLYING HELMET STYLE PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT HAT. Size 7. Blue denim style material with under chin fastening strap. Neck protector is marked "USN". Wool lined. Grade II-. $85

5144 US WWI WESTERN ELECTRIC TYPE 1-A LEATHER FLYING HELMET. Brown and olive coloured leather, still very supple, some scuffing and wear. Lace up rear section. Leather chinstrap with a brass buckle. The two front side press stud leather straps which hold the goggle strap in place, both have the outside male sections of the attaching rivets broken off. Tan chamois lining to the interior (which is in VCG). With orange maker's label "Western Electric Co Inc NC 1-A helmet patent applied for. Small size." Grade II- $375*
