E3 Creating a Custom Action Macro


This exercise explains how to create an action macro that creates a new layer and inserts a dynamic block with a set of predefined property values.

  1. In AutoCAD, open the Sample Drawing.dwg file from C:\Datasets\Thursday\AC2075-L AutoCAD Customization Boot Camp No Experience Required.

  2. If the AutoLISP – Load Acad.lsp dialog box is displayed, click Load Acad.lsp into Every Drawing.

This dialog box might be displayed because of the sample file acad.lsp that is in the dataset.

  1. On the Quick Access toolbar, select Drafting & Annotation from the Workspaces drop-down list.




  1. On the ribbon, click View tab and then

    1. on the Palettes panel, click Tool Palettes.

    2. on the Palettes panel, click Properties.



  1. On the ribbon, click Manage tab >> Action Recorder panel >> click Record.



  1. At the Command prompt, enter
