Lorraine Zimmerman. As an educator and later as an insurance broker “protecting and preserving” has been a way of life. During the past year serving the LWVPBC as Chair of the Environmental Team has been another opportunity for her to “protect and preserve” natural resources for future generations.
Mary Zuskin, who taught in public schools for several years early in her career, is a retired Licensed Clinical Social Worker. While working on the outpatient unit of the CT Mental
Health Center for mnay years, she opened a private psychotherapy practice which she maintained until her retirement. She also worked for twenty years for the Hamden, CT School System where she
did psychiatric evaluations, consulted with teachers and parents and worked directly with children ranging from preschoolers to seniors in high school. A native of CT, Mary received her B.A. from Albertus
Magnus College in New Haven; an M.S. from Southern CT State University, an M.S.W. from the University of CT. She has served on the LWV’s
Voter Services Committee, the Membership Committee, and the Environmental Committee.
She is married to Abe Zusking, also a LWV member, who registered Spanish speakers with The League in the previous election. She has a son and daughter both of who live in CT.
