Joyce Smookler moved to Florida in September 2015. Before retiring in 2012, she was a district manager and a corporate sales trainer for Bell Atlantic/ Verizon for 18 years. She traveled nationally, training new hires in marketing, sales, and operations. Joyce has been involved in Advocacy and Voter Registration in the League of Women Voters.

Joyce is on the board of National Organization of Women and was fortunate to have been a part of the interview process for NOW's endorsement of local candidates in the most recent election.





Joyce Sullivan is a Florida native who was born in West Palm Beach. She retired after a 23 year career at Palm Beach Newspapers where she was the general manager of two different divisions: The Florida Pennysaver and a Hispanic news publication. She has extensive experience in printing and distribution. She has served on the boards of Leadership Palm Beach County, the Northern Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce, Hispanic Chamber, Hispanic Human Resources Counsel and Free Community Papers of Florida as well as numerous other organizations.

Joyce lives in Palm Beach Gardens. She has three adult children and three grandchildren who all reside in Palm Beach County.





Karen Wilkerson has been head of her own lobbying firm where she represented national and state companies. She directed a national trade association, represented clients before administrative and legislative bodies in state and national governments. She owned her own government relations firm that represented drug chains, dental insurance companies, health care activities, the plastic industry, paint industry, women’s issues, pro bono work on AIDS, and state national retail companies. Karen is a Certified Association Executive of the American Society of Association Executives. She was involved in the grant proposal that placed nurses in all PBC schools. She also designed and implemented a student-parent information workshop series on drugs, gangs, and parent-student positive communications. Karen coordinated the collection and distribution of school uniforms to needy families in PBC. Throughout her life, Karen has been involved with music. She has played the piano since childhood and was involved in music presentations and concerts wherever she resided. She now teaches piano to children and adults. Karen has served on a state Board of the League of Women Voters and is currently the president of The League of Women Voters of PBC.

Joan Williams is Director of Marketing at Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley, where she is responsible for the firm’s advertising, marketing, public relations and political affairs.

Honored by numerous professional organizations during her career, Williams has earned awards from the Tri-City Training Employment Community, the Association for Retarded Citizens, Women in Communications, and the National Society of Fundraising Executives. She has served on the boards of the Palm Beach County Literacy Coalition, Florida Easter Seal Society, Communities in Schools, and the Palm Beach County Mental Health Association. She also has served on advisory boards of the Association for Retarded Citizens and Mothers Against Drunk Driving. She is a member of the Legal Marketing Association and of the Public Relations Society of America.



Williams was educated at Marymount College in Boca Raton and Florida State University. She lives in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, with her husband, Arthur Teoli.
