Student Capabilities

Creative and critical thinkers

Students analyse context and content through the use of primary sources, to make critical evaluations. Students draw upon their creativity to identify connections and develop their historical insight.

Students will analyse contemporaneous political and social problems and promote possible solutions or evaluate those found at the time.

Skilled and empathetic communicators

They will engage in tasks that develop an appreciation and respect for other peoples’ perspectives and actions. They are encouraged to engage with the peoples throughout history and relate that to the world in which they live.

Informed and ethical decision-makers

Students will develop objectivity and clarity of thought in analysis, evaluation, comparison and justification of events and outcomes. They will focus on hypothesis and testing assumptions from available evidence.
