BERT FIRMAN

As musical director for Zonophone records from 1924 to 1928, Bert Firman was responsible for the entire output of British dance records on that label. His own work was issued under his name, and that of the Cabaret Novelty Orchestra, the Carlton Hotel Dance Orchestra, the Arcadians Dance Orchestra, the Devonshire Restaurant Dance Band, and the Rhythmic Eight. Many of these were first-class jazz or hot dance-band records, and those issued as the Arcadians Dance Orchestra, the Devonshire Restaurant Dance Band, and the Rhythmic Eight are listed under those names. The remainder that are of jazz interest are shown below; the initials of the names on the labels are given in parentheses after the catalogue numbers.

1281 Where Can I Find You?

Voc 15122, X-9735
