TAMMY RED
What I told you about that. Little boy, I am not you Lil momma! You can’t afford me if you tried.
KENDALL WHITE
Tammy, I do not know what is going on with you today.
MALIK GREEN
It is ok Mr. White. A black man is always ridicule of their flaws. Black men are constantly reminded of not being worth it, or worth anything. I tried and I failed. But can people understand that black men can mess up too. I landed back into the group men, who cannot do or who can’t provide for their family. I watch my father struggle to provide for me and my brothers. I felt as the oldest I needed to make a change. So, I went into the streets. And became the streets. I was making money unlike any other person. You probably want to judge me right now. Look at this drug dealer. I needed to support my family. And on top of this I got this girl pregnant. So I had to support her and my son. My dad figured out how I was making the money. Told me I had to stop, or he was going to kick me out. My dad and I relationship were close. We got into this big argument and fought one night. It was like he saw his old life in front of him. You need to be careful about the crowd you keep he said. Those friends that night got kill and I was almost arrested. That is when tried to turn my life around. Now, I am here in school. But that hustler mindset lingers heavily on me. That crowd got me thinking money was my solution to everything, still trying to hold on to me. But I am struggling to not go into that money hungry greed mindset. But how when my son needs his father.
JESSICA PINK
Change how the world view black men.
KENDALL WHITE
Break that generational curse. Of not resulting to that street life again. Your dad saw himself in you. Of his past. Which he forgave himself. But to see that life revisit and come to you probably broke his heart. You are what you see yourself as not what the world sees of you as.
