E. Decisiveness. 1 Corinthians 5:3; Acts 14:11-18; Philippians 4:9. An effectual overseer is decisive. As you lead, you must wait for God’s direction on major issues. But God has given each of us a mind to decide on small matters. If you as a leader are indecisive, the congregation may grow impatient and may go in opposing directions. Consider the example of the Apostle Paul, who gave specific instructions to believers on matters of faith and morality. See 1 Corinthians 5:3; Acts 14:11-18; Philippians 4:9.
