1.
The organization should be kept simple. Excessive numbers of positions are difficult to coordinate. When people are asked to serve in too many roles, they grow weary.

2.
Each part of the organization must work toward the scriptural
purposes of the church. Periodically, it is good to evaluate each position to see if that position is working toward proper goals, and whether or not the position should be changed or eliminated.

3.
The organization must be flexible to follow the Holy Spirit. Too many rules, bylaws, and traditions can quench the Spirit. Elders should lead the church in praying for spiritual guidance. The church should be guided by the Spirit rather than by excessive man-made rules.

4.
The organization should allow the elders to have authority to lead.
Elders are called to love and shepherd the church. A shepherd protects and leads. So anew convert to the faith should not have the same authority as the mature Christian called to serve as an overseer.
