China Phd scholarship Programme

The China PhD Scholarship Programme, which is overseen by the China Scholarship Council (CSC), aims to sponsor first-class Chinese students to study for PhD degrees in science and technology fields at first-class universities overseas. Scholarships are allocated to the participating Chinese universities on a quota basis and cover air fares and living costs for up to four years. Tuition fees are not included and will be underwritten by the Faculty for up to five successful applicants to its available projects, see below. Any other project that falls within the CSC Priority Areas will also be considered. Please contact the relevant Department for further information. Information, in Chinese, is available here.

Applicants must be Chinese nationals who are enrolled at one of the listed Chinese universities, aged under 35 and with a satisfactory foreign language ability. The University of Glasgow particularly welcomes applications from graduates of the following institutions: Sichuan, Tianjin, Nankai, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Xian Jiaotong University. Those who have been funded by the CSC or are studying overseas at the time of application are not eligible. Applicants must commit to return to China for two years on completion of their studies.
