RECESS

We believe students need the fresh air therefore all students will go outside for their assigned grade level recess time. Please be sure your child is properly dressed for the various weather conditions. We reserve the right to ask students to wear gear suitable for outdoor temperature and weather conditions based upon staff judgment(s). The actual time outside is approximately 10 minutes during the winter days. After the first snowfall, boots are required and defined as footwear other than what is worn in school.


Rules:

  • Use appropriate verbal and body language.

  • No rough or aggressive play.

  • Stay within “recess area” where you can be seen by supervisor.

  • Stay away from pond and wooded areas.

  • Shoes must be worn.

  • Keep balls away from the building and windows.

  • Keep balls away from the black rubber area.

  • No jumping off the high equipment or out of swings.

  • Must have permission from your supervisor to leave recess area.

  • Do not slide down or climb on the railings.

  • No sticks or umbrellas.

  • No not throw sand, rubber, rocks, snow, etc.

  • No electronic toys.

  • No texting on cell phones.

  • Return equipment used during recess.


Guidelines While Playing On Equipment And/Or Fields:

BALL PLAY

No metal bats or hard balls

Keep off the backstop and fences.

No tackle football.
