1Purpose


The SAP Fiori Launchpad is the entry point to Fiori apps on mobile or desktop devices, and The Launchpad Designer is the standard tool for configuring the Launchpad.

This configuration guide provides the information you need to set up the SAP Fiori Launchpad and Launchpad Designer. Furthermore it provides the steps to add all types of SAP Fiori app into the Launchpad.


2Preparation

2.1Prerequisites


Before starting with the installation of this building block, please complete the installtation of the building block Fiori System landscape setup (EE0) and Generic Enablement (EE1).

The Fiori Launchpad and Launchpad Designer are part of the software component SAP_UI, which is already included in the standard SAP Netweaver 7.40.


3Configuration

3.1Setting Up the Launchpad and Launchpad Designer

3.1.1Maintaining SAP Gateway OData Services


Use

In this activity, you activate the corresponding OData service for SAP Fiori Launchpad and Launchpad Desginer.



Procedure

  1. Login to the ABAP front-end server (also a SAP Netweaver Gateway system).

  2. Access the activity using the following navigation options:

    Transaction code

    SPRO

    SAP Reference IMG menu

    SAP NetWeaver ® Gateway ® Odata Channel ® Administration ® General Settings ® Activate and Maintain Services

  3. On the Activate and Maintain Services screen, choose Add Service.

  4. On the Add Service screen, choose Local as the System Alias. A list of services is then displayed.

  5. Choose the entry with technical service name /UI2/LAUNCHPAD (Service for accessing launchpad links).

  6. In the Add Service dialog box, specify Package, choose ICF Node as Standard Mode, and then choose Continue (Enter). A message is displayed at the bottom of the screen informing you that Service ‘’ successfully created. Choose Back (F3).

  7. Perform steps 5 to 7 for following services respectively:

Used by the SAP Fiori launchpad for navigation

/UI2/TRANSPORT

Used by the SAP Fiori launchpad designer to read and assign transport request

Result

You have successfully activated the mentioned odata services.


3.1.2Configuring ICF Nodes


Use

In this activity, you activate the corresponding ICF nodes for SAP Fiori Launchpad UI.



Procedure

  1. Login to the ABAP front-end server (also a SAP Netweaver Gateway system).

  2. Access the activity using the following navigation options:

    Transaction code

    SICF

  3. Choose Execute. The Maintain Service window displays.

  4. Activate following relevant paths.

/default_host/sap/bc/ui2/

/default_host/sap/bc/ui5_ui5/ui2/

/default_host/sap/bc/ui5_ui5/sap/arsrvc_upb_admn/

/default_host/sap/bc/ui5_ui5/sap/ar_srvc_news/
/default_host/sap/bc/ui5_ui5/sap/ar_srvc_launch/
/default_host/sap/bc/ ui5_ui5/ui2/ushell/
/default_host/sap/public/bc/ui5_ui5/
/default_host/sap/public/bc/ui2/
/default_host/sap/bc/ui2/nwbc/ for NWBC for HTML


Result

You have successfully activated the mentioned ICF nodes.


3.1.3Assigning Roles to Administrators and Users


Use

In this activity, you assign necessary roles to Fiori Launchpad Administrators and End Users ensure Administrators and End Users have proper authorization to access the Fiori Launchpad designer and the Fiori Launchpad.



Procedure

  1. Login to ABAP front-end server.

  2. Access the activity using the following navigation options:

    Transaction code

    SU01

  3. Input <Administrator Name> (for example. FIORI_ADM) in the Name filed.

  4. Choose Change.

  5. Choose the Roles tab.

  6. Add entry SAP_UI2_ADMIN_700 into the list.

  7. Choose Save. And then the administrator user in the context will be able to access the Fiori Launchpad designer.

  8. Access the activity using the following navigation options:

    Transaction code

    SU01

  9. Input <End User Name> (for example. FIORI_USER) in the Name filed.

  10. Choose Change.

  11. Choose the Roles tab.

  12. Add entry SAP_UI2_USER_700 into the list.

  13. Choose Save. And then the end user in the context will be able to access the Fiori Launchpad.

Result

The Adminstrator and End User have been assigned the proper authorization to access the Fiori Launchpad designer and Launchpad respectively.
