They moved to Dysart, then back to Iowa Falls. He worked as depot agent, carpenter, then insurance and loans, and grain buying.They moved to Atascadero, CA, when he retired at 66 years of age, where Sadie died in 1936. Six of their children followed them to California. From 1938 he lived in Berkeley, CA with his daughter Loena.
