With the recent sad passing of Mrs Sabrina Gertrude Baker, aged 63, Crookwell NSW lost one of it's most highly respected citizens. The wife of Mr Guilford Baker, of Wade St, Crookwell NSW, the deceased was very well known in the community, having lived here all her life.

The youngest daughter of Mr. & Mrs Michael Drew, of Laggan, Mrs Baker was married in Crookwell NSW in 1917, and there are six children of this union.

Mrs Baker is survived by her husband, two sons, Bert and Reg, and four daughters, Brenda (Mrs Mathews, Sydney NSW), Nita (Mrs Max Anderson, Laggan), Joyce (Mrs Finerty, Townsville) and Patricia, Sydney NSW. She is also survived by one sister Anne, four brothers predeceased her. Of quiet disposition, Mrs Baker was a sincere and devout Catholic, being a prefect in the sacred Heart sodality. Her family and home were her main interests in life.

The funeral moved from St Mary's Church, Crookwell NSW, for internment in the Crookwell NSW cemetery, Rev , Fr, Pierse officiated at the funeral. Earlier, Rev. Fr. J Bartley officiated at a requiem mass. A wreath of floral tributes covering the casket bore silent tribute of one loved and respected by all.

Pall-bearers were Messrs, Pat Berrell, Stan McCormick, Kevin Cunningham and Max Anderson.
