Nira Park - Producer
Nira Park founded Big Talk in 1995, through which she produced both series of Simon Pegg and Jessica Hynes’ award-winning comedy series Spaced, directed by Edgar Wright, all three series of double BAFTA award-winning sitcom Black Books, and the comedy drama series Free Agents. Following the success of Spaced, Nira went on to develop and produce the hit movie Shaun of the Dead in 2003, for which she received a Carl Foreman Award nomination at BAFTA. Nira was also selected as one of Variety Magazine’s Top Ten Producers to Watch. In 2006, she produced Ringan Ledwidge’s debut feature Gone for Working Title/Universal and she collaborated again with Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright on their follow up movie, Hot Fuzz.
As Edgar Wright’s producing partner, they teamed up again with Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, starring Michael Cera, which was released internationally in August 2010 to outstanding critical acclaim. She also Executive Produced several series of BBC Three’s hit sitcom Him & Her, and Channel 4′s Friday Night Dinner, written and produced by Robert Popper. In December 2010, Nira was the recipient of ‘Producer of the Year’ at the UK Women in Film and TV Awards.
2011 saw the release of Paul, penned by and starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost and directed by Greg Mottola for Working Title/Universal. This was followed by Attack the Block, Joe Cornish’s debut feature. The film has won several awards including all four Audience Awards at Sitges, SXSW, LAFF and Fantasia International Film Festival. Sightseers had its world premiere at Cannes Film Festival 2012 with a Special Screening during Directors’ Fortnight and continues to be nominated and win awards internationally.
Psychological horror In Fear, directed and story by Jeremy Lovering, had its world premiere at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, followed by a UK screening at Frightfest. StudioCanal/Film4 released in the UK on the 15th November.
2013 has also seen The World’s End open in the UK with rave reviews, and the film has enjoyed a strong box office in the US. The third in Edgar Wright’s trilogy of comedies starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, The World’s End was produced by Nira with Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan of Working Title.
James Biddle – Producer
James entered the Film Industry in 1999 and over the next 10 years worked as freelancer in the production offices of films such as In Bruges, Lord of War, The Boat That Rocked  and The History Boys. James first met Nira Park in 2003 when he was Production Coordinator on Shaun of the Dead, and went on to Production Manage Hot Fuzz. When Big Talk expanded in 2009, Nira invited James to work on their slate of films with StudioCanal and Film4. He line produced Joe Cornish's award winning Sci Fi Comedy Attack The Block, then co-produced the critically acclaimed serial killer comedy Sightseers, directed by Ben Wheatley. In 2011 James partnered Nira in producing Jeremy Lovering's psychological horror In Fear and in 2013 worked as Executive Producer on The World's End  - the final part of Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg's hugely popular 'blood and ice cream trilogy.' 
Dick Pope – Director of photography
Dick Pope began his career as a documentary film cameraman. He worked for many companies including the BBC travelling the world to remote and inaccessible areas including war zones. He specialized in shooting films about endangered indigenous tribes including Disappearing World, highly political films including World in Action, and also ‘arts’ films including The South Bank Show.
From the early 1980s Dick shot hundreds of concerts and music videos for bands and artists as diverse as Queen, Tina Turner, The Clash, The Police, Neil Young and AC/DC. Moving into feature films in the mid 80s among a diverse selection of assignments he photographed Porterhouse Blue for which he was BAFTA nominated, and Philip Ridley's Reflecting Skin.
In 1990 Dick was asked by director Mike Leigh to photograph Life is Sweet beginning a collaboration that has produced ten films including Naked, Secrets and Lies, Topsy-Turvy, Vera Drake, Happy-Go-Lucky and Another Year. Pope has twice won the top prize at Camerimage, The International Festival of the Art of Cinematography, for Vera Drake and Secrets & Lies, and was honoured with the Silver Frog for second place at the same festival for The Illusionist. In 1999, Leigh and Pope were recognized at Camerimage with a major award for their career collaboration. Pope’s work on The Illusionist was nominated for Academy and ASC Awards in 2007.
Pope’s other credits include The Reflecting Skin, Nicholas Nickleby, The Way of the Gun, 13 Conversations About One Thing, Man of the Year, Honeydripper, Angus, Thongs & Perfect Snogging and Me and Orson Welles.
More recently, he has photographed Thin Ice for Jill Sprecher, Bernie for Richard Linklater and Angelica for Mitchell Lichtenstein. He has just completed filming a project about J.M.W. Turner, his 10th collaboration with Mike Leigh.
Dick Lunn – Production Designer
Dick has enjoyed great success across film & television as Production Designer where his television credits include the hugely popular Spaced series, Phoneshop, James Griffiths’ Free Agents and his television movie, Royal Wedding.
Dick has recently been concentrating on designing for film after working as Art Director on big hits such as Hot Fuzz starring Nick Frost and Simon Pegg and the award-winning Attack The Block. As a Production Designer, recent highlights include Chris Morris’s iconic Four Lions starring Kayvan Novak, Nigel Lindsay and Riz Ahmed for Film 4, and The Inbetweeners Movie, based on the hugely popular E4 series.
Most recently Dick designed the much anticipated and critically acclaimed Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa, starring Steve Coogan for producer Kevin Loader.
Jonathan Amos, ACE – Editor
Jonathan has worked on a number of feature films including Big Talk’s tense backwater thriller, In Fear, directed by Jeremy Lovering, Attack The Block directed by Joe Cornish and Edgar Wright's Scott Pilgrim Vs The World for Universal Pictures. He acted as additional editor on Wright's Hot Fuzz and Don Mancini's Seed Of Chucky. Television credits include Big Talk’s Free Agents starring Anthony Head for C4, the BBC’s Pram Face, Mitchell and Webb’s Peep Show, Spooks, and Ashes to Ashes for Kudos. Currently, Jon is cutting Nick Cave’s new project, 20,000 Days On Earth.

 

For his work on Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, Jon won the 2010 San Diego Film Critics Society Awards for best editing and was nominated for Best Editing of a Feature at the Annual ACE Eddie Awards, in 2011. In 2009, Jon was also nominated for a BAFTA, for his work on Spooks.


Chris Dickens, ACE – Editor
Chris has worked across a diverse selection of feature films and television projects.  These include co-editing The Double and Submarine for director Richard Ayoade, Tom Hooper’s Les Miserables, and cutting Berberian Sound Studio for Peter Strickland.  He received the Academy Award for Best Editing and the BAFTA Film Award for his work on Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire.  He has collaborated with director Edgar Wright on the feature films Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead as well as cutting the television series Spaced. Other projects include Paul directed by Greg Mottola, A Complete History of My Sexual Failures, directed by and starring Chris Waitt, Ringan Ledwidge’s Gone, Danny Cannon’s Goal and Don Mancini’s Seed of Chucky.
Chris is currently cutting Suite Francaise for director Saul Dibb.
Julian Slater – Sound Designer
Julian Slater has worked as Supervising Sound Editor or Sound Designer with a variety of world class directors.  He co-founded the post-production company Hackenbacker at the age of 22.  Shortly after launching the company that quickly became the leading post facility in London, he designed his first feature film - Leaving Las Vegas for Mike Figgis.
He is a multiple BAFTA and Emmy nominee.  His motion picture credits include Shaun of the Dead, In Bruges, Dark Shadows, Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World, Attack the Block, and The World’s End. 
Daniel Pemberton – Composer
One of the most exciting film composers working today, Daniel Pemeberton has composed for both high end TV drama and feature film. Prior to Cuban Fury, Daniel has worked with world renowned filmmaker Ridley Scott on The Vatican and The Counselor. Other film credits include Nick Murphy’s The Awakening and Blood, and Jeremy Lovering’s In Fear (also for Big Talk Pictures).
Television credits include the BBC’s Desperate Romantics (for which Daniel won the Ivor Novello award for Best Television Soundtrack and the Royal Television Society Nomination for Best Title Music), the Emmy Award winning Forgiven and the BAFTA winning Peep Show. Daniel was also nominated for the Royal Television Society’s Best Original Score for Occupation for the BBC.
Rosa Diaz – Costume Designer
Rosa has 20 years of experience designing costumes for film, television, commercials and theatre.

 

Her feature credits include Joe Cornish’s Attack The Block, The Inbetweeners Movie directed by Ben Palmer, and Sightseers directed by Ben Wheatley. Rosa’s TV credits include Bad Sugar and The Royal Wedding for Tiger Aspect, Hancock and Joan directed by Richard Laxton and starring Ken Stott and Olivia Colman, and Free Agents starring Anthony Head.



 

Rosa has worked on an array of commercials, from The Guardian Pigs to Stella Artois, Sainsbury’s, Lynx, Sky Movies and John Lewis.

 

Jane Walker – Make Up and Hair Designer
Jane Walker is another long-time collaborator with Big Talk, having most recently worked on Edgar Wright’s The World’s End, in addition to Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead, as well as Greg Mottola’s Paul. Other film credits include Tom Hooper’s Les Miserables, Robert Weide’s How to Lose Friends and Alienate People, David Schwimmer’s Run Fat Boy Run, Sho Igarashi’s Chosyu 5, David Mackenzie’s Asylum, David Dobkin’s Shanghai Knights, and Stephen Sommers’ The Mummy and The Mummy Returns.
On television, Walker has previously worked with producer Nira Park on Spaced and Black Books and amongst her numerous other television credits are the HBO hit Game of Thrones, Harry and Paul – series 2 starring Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse, Man Stroke Woman – series 1 and 2, The Lenny Henry Show, Murder in Suburbia – series 1and 2, Randall and Hopkirk Deceased, The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer and ’Allo, ’Allo.
Nina Gold & Theo Park – Casting Directors
Nina Gold is one of London’s leading independent Casting Directors.  Upon graduating from Cambridge University where she first became involved in theatre, she began teaching drama in Paris.  She is best known for her 14 year collaboration with Mike Leigh, including Topsy-Turvy, Vera Drake, Happy-Go-Lucky and most recently, Another Year. 

Nina’s recent feature film credits include Rush directed by Ron Howard, The Counselor directed by Ridley Scott, The World’s End directed by Edgar Wright, Prometheus directed by Ridley Scott, Les Miserables directed by Tom Hooper, the Oscar-winning The Iron Lady directed by Phyllida Lloyd, the Oscar-winning The King's Speech, directed by Tom Hooper, Jack the Giant Killer directed by Bryan Singer, Attack the Block directed by Joe Cornish, Jane Eyre directed by Cary Fukunaga, Hot Fuzz directed by Edgar Wright, Nowhere Boy directed by Sam Taylor Wood, Bright Star directed by Jane Campion; and Eastern Promises by  David Kronenberg.  



Television credits include four seasons of Game of Thrones for HBO and The Crimson Petal and The White. Other television credits include two seasons of the highly successful Rome for HBO, The Red Riding Trilogy (1974, 1979 and 1983) for Channel 4/Revolution Films, Longford for Channel 4/HBO directed by Tom Hooper and The Devils’s Whore for Company Pictures/HBO directed by Marc Munden, and The Life and Death of Peter Sellers directed by Stephen Hopkins. In 2008, Nina won the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Casting for a Miniseries for her work on HBO’s John Adams and in 2011 won the Artios award for outstanding casting on The King’s Speech.
Richard Marcel - Choreographer
Richard Marcel is the UK’s top TV, movie and Salsa choreographer. His expert and unique knowledge of a diverse range of dance styles, coupled with his exceptional musical and production skills, have led him to work with some of the worlds biggest stars including Madonna, Kylie Minogue, George Michael, Diana Ross and Tom Jones. He is resident choreographer on Strictly Come Dancing and works continuously for UK prime time entertainment shows, commercials and music videos. His major TV credits include So You Think You Can Dance, Let’s Dance for Comic Relief, Britain’s Got Talent, Celebrity Splash, Children In Need and was choreographer and stage director for the 2010 Royal Variety Performance.
His movie credits include Kick Ass2 and The Wedding Video. Theatre credits include Burn The Floor, Riverdance: Heartbeat Of Home as well as dance coaching for the principal artists in the West End hit show Billy Elliot. Richard is the director of the world-renowned Latin Dance Agency providing top international Latin music and dance artists for shows in Dubai, Japan, France, Spain and Holland and representing the Strictly Come Dancing professional couples. Clients include MTV, BBC, The Brit Awards, Virgin, ITV, Channel 4 and The Royal Albert Hall.
Susana Montero – Associate Choreographer
Susana Montero is established as one of the premier teachers, dancers and choreographers in the UK and internationally. She recently moved to Spain where she is the Artistic Director of the Dance Council in Madrid.
Susana was born & raised in Spain. She discovered a passion for ballet and flamenco when she started dancing aged 5. She performed for the Silvia Yague Ballet Dance Company and The Spanish National Ballet till she moved to London in early 90s. Also trained in contemporary, jazz & Afro-Cuban Dance, she decided to specialise in the Latin Dances when she moved to London. She is now one of the most respected Salsa dancer, teacher and choreographers in the world.  She also has a PhD in Psychology.
Susana is twice British Salsa Champion, also awarded Best Dance Performer and Teacher in the UK several times in the last 15 years. She has also been awarded internationally including the Award for her contribution to the Latin Dance and Culture in Los Angeles, USA, Russia, Italy and Malaysia.
In 1999 she debuted in the Princess Diana Memorial Concert at the Royal Albert Hall under the direction of Richard Marcel with who she has collaborated and assisted in many different occasions, BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing as well as in So You Think You Can Dance on BBC and Let’s Dance for Sport Relief BBC 2010.

STUDIOCANAL also has an exclusive deal with Belgian company nWave, a European leader in 3D production. They produced Sammy’s adventures, and are currently working on House Of Magic their new animated 3D film.

FILM4
Film4, headed by Tessa Ross, is Channel 4 Television’s feature film division. Film4 develops and co-finances films and is known for working with the most innovative talent in the UK, whether new or established.

Comedy and horror provide the beating heart of Big Talk’s slate, often overlapping and conspiring. The slate continues to broaden to include a wider range of stories that have the potential to move us, make us laugh, or scare us. We are talent driven. We want to work with directors of vision and writers with strong, unique voices. The future of Big Talk lies in continuing to work with the best of the UK and the US’s more experienced filmmakers, as well as constantly excavating and nurturing vibrant, emerging talent.
Big Talk’s credits include all of Edgar Wright’s films to date: Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World, and most recently The World’s End. We also produced Greg Mottola’s Paul, written by and starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost with Kristen Wiig. Joe Cornish’s debut feature Attack the Block was released to critical acclaim in 2011, winning all four Audience Awards at Sitges, SXSW, the LAFF and Fantasia International Film Festival.
