Types of Partnerships and Their Benefits

The findings from the interviews illustrate the various types of partnerships and benefits between mechanical engineering organisations and technical universities, with an emphasis on the significance of hands-on training, practical knowledge, and resource sharing. The significance of industry-academia collaboration in promoting skill development, enhancing employability, and fostering innovation is consistent with previous research (e.g., King & Persily, 2020; Rybnicek & Königsgruber, 2019). The first interviewee (IE1) described a Toyota training programme that provides both hands-on and field-based instruction in repair procedures. This finding is consistent with the literature on the advantages of experiential learning in engineering education, which stresses the significance of practical training in preparing students for the labour market (e.g., Pardede, 2020; Stehle & Peters-Burton, 2019).
The second interviewee (IE2) mentioned a limited partnership with Japan Motors Company Ltd. involving the establishment of a facility on the university campus in order to provide students with hands-on experience. This type of partnership demonstrates the industry's dedication to engineering education through the sharing of resources and expertise, which has been shown to improve students' skill development and employability (e.g., Sotiriadou et al., 2019; Succi & Canovi, 2019). The third interviewee (IE3) stated that their organisation donates vehicle components, engines, electronic gearbox systems, and other body parts to Accra

Technical University and Ho Technical University students. This type of partnership emphasises the significance of resource sharing and industry support for enhancing engineering education (e.g.,Perkmann et al., 2013; Ramirez- Mendoza et al., 2020; H. Si et al., 2019). The findings from the interviews emphasise the significance of hands-on training, practical knowledge, and resource sharing in engineering education by revealing various types of partnerships and benefits between organisations and technical universities. These results support prior research that highlights the importance of industry-academia collaboration in fostering skill development, employability, and innovation in engineering education (e.g., R. Agrawal & Pandey, 2021; Mamatha et al., 2020).
