The microphone is located 4 in away from the crucible, the rear photodiode is located 7.5 in from the crucible, and the fiber optic collimator is 4.5 in from the crucible. The test article is contained inside of a large fume hood for safety when handling propellants. On the left side of the test article, an amplifier box receives the impact sensor signal before sending it to the data acquisition system. Data acquisition is manually triggered to begin recording for 20 sand then the PTFE rod is used to manually actuate the syringe within the time frame. The cameras are automatically triggered by the laser interrupter when the drop passes through, crossing the threshold voltage setting on the delay generator. The delay generator sends signals for the Phantom video camera to begin recording immediately and for the streak camera to start about 75 ms later depending on the test settings.
